Nintendo DS - Best Multiplayer

by Steven Rodriguez - January 1, 2007, 8:45 pm EST

Nintendo World Report highlights the best of the year that was.

Gaming by yourself is good. Gaming with a friend is twice is good. Gaming with three friends is ten times is good. (We counted.) The NWR Award for Best DS Multiplayer is given to the game that offers the most fun when played in groups.

Nintendo DS – Best Multiplayer

The NWR Award

Tetris DS

Tetris has been traditionally seen as a one-player game. It was you versus the Tetriminoes, and that's it. Multiplayer Tetris used to be just two or four players flinging garbage back and forth. That changed when Nintendo released Tetris DS. As if a ten player Tetris battle wasn't crazy enough, the addition of Mario Kart-esque items made it insane. The best part? You only needed one game card to go crazy.

Runner-up: Metroid Prime Hunters

Modern PC first-person shooters can be played online, but there's just something about getting together for a LAN party that makes it more fun. It's the same for Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS. Even though you can play against people through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, there's something more in seeing that look on someone's face when you head shot them from all the way across the arena, then telling him you meant to do that. Yeah, sure you did.

Also Nominated:

Elite Beat Agents
