Hong Kong lands Mario Sunshine early GC

Hong Kong based import retailer Lik-Sang is reporting they have recieved their initial shipment of Super Mario Sunshine, and are shipping out their pre-orders today.

No word from other places yet, but we've got our eyes glued to the net for all of you fellow Super Mario Sunshine importers.

Universal GameCube bootdisc coming

According to NCSX, Datel will be releasing the "Freeloader", a bootdisc for the GameCube that will allow gamers to play GameCube games from any region.

There hasn't been a price set as of yet, and the release date is tenatively August 5th.

Nintendo Warehouse Robbed

Nintendo has become one of the victims in a recent string of warehouse burglaries in Japan.

A police spokesman for the Saitama prefecture in Japan has announced that a Warehouse of Nintendo products was burglarized. Approximately 23.6 million yen in products was stolen. Among the stolen items were about 600 GameCubes and 400 Game Boy Advances units. Software... Read more...

A few small tidbits about the new GBA versions of Pokemon have just been released by Nintendo of America.

There will be two Pokemon GBA titles released: Ruby, and Sapphire.

Ruby and Sapphire will have a ton of new characters and feature a brand new setting (for the love of Christ FINALLY), as well as new boy and girl trainers, and two-Pokémon vs. two-Pokémon battles.

UPDATED: Our good friend Ravi Hiranand has mentioned in his recent Super Mario Sunshine impressions that a Super Mario Sunshine save did NOT unlock any new trophies in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Nintendo's page is very difficult to translate, but it seems that there may either be a mail-in offer, or a Toys 'R' Us visit needed to get the trophy.

Although US gamers are probably out of luck on this one, our European readers will be glad to know that Shox, EA's upcoming rally racer, is headed to GameCube as well as the previously announced PS2 version. The mysterious GameCube developer, led by ex-Rare employees, squashes a few rumo(u)rs and hints at its first project.

Zoonami has been the subject of many rumors, but now their website has updated with some of the first real info we've seen from the company itself.

In addition to trampling on rumors that they are working on a Goldeneye 007 sequel of any kind or some "Gran Turismo killer", they've uploaded a heavily censored game proposal of their upcoming GameCube project, codenamed Game Zero.
