Best Adventure Game

by Michael Cole - May 22, 2006, 6:33 pm EDT

The PGC staff picks its favorites from the year's biggest funfest!

This award goes to the game which best combines discovery, action, and atmosphere, regardless of Nintendo platform.

PGC's E3 Awards 2006!

Winner: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Jonathan Metts: The adventure elements were not so apparent in the E3 demo of Metroid Prime 3, but that was true of its predecessors as well. From what the developers are saying, Corruption will have just as much exploration and probably a little less frustration than the superb first two games.

Daniel Bloodworth: While it’s impossible to determine which game will turn out to be the better when Metroid and Zelda are finished, Metroid Prime 3 had the more impressive demo. There are more intuitive uses for the Wii controller and the expanded grappling beam usage adds new strategies to the Prime gameplay.

Mike Gamin: Prime 3 just works on Wii. It is probably the only Wii game at the show that I had no complaints about. I can't wait to play it.

Runner-up: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
