Killer Freaks Wii U Development Began in 2009 WiiU

A LinkedIn profile suggests that development on the Wii U first-person shooter began in September 2009.

Yoan Fanise, current audio director of Ubisoft Singapore, worked with Ubisoft Montpeiller from September 2009 to October 2010 on Killer Freaks from Outer Space, a Wii U exclusive that was revealed at E3 2011, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Nintendo Details E3 2012 Plans

You can follow along at Nintendo's website or, you know, at Nintendo World Report.

Nintendo is providing tons of content for their All-Access Presentation @ E3 2012, which will be available in some form on http://e3.nintendo.com, Spike TV and MTV2, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.

The company's E3 press conference, which was confirmed a few weeks back, will be at 9 a.m. PDT on June 5. Later that night at 11:30 p.m. PDT, users will be able to view a Developer Discussion with Wii U Hardware Producer Katsuya Eguchi.

Two new Nintendo-themed notebooks are available for Club Nintendo members in Japan starting today. The notebooks feature designs from the Mario series, with one of the notebooks being red and sporting the beloved plumber on the cover, and the other being pink and featuring Princess Peach. Both notebooks are A5 (21x15cm) ring notebooks and contain 44 pages (88, counting both sides).

Wii Virtual Console Loses Two More Games in Japan Wii

Two MSX titles bite the dust.

Two MSX titles, Aleste and Eggy, were removed from the Wii Virtual Console service in Japan today. Aleste is a shoot-‘em-up-style title originally released on the MSX in 1988. Eggy, a side-scrolling shooter, was originally released in 1985.

MPAA Hires Former Nintendo Anti-Piracy Counsel

The Motion Picture Association of America snatches up a former Nintendo employee.

The Motion Picture Association of America has hired former Nintendo of America Anti-Piracy Counsel Marc Miller for the position of Senior Vice President of Content Protection, Internet. "At Nintendo, Miller successfully implemented content protection enforcement programs addressing P2P, cyberlockers, e-commerce, and action sites," the MPAA said in a statement sent to reporters.

Guild 02 Game Details Revealed 3DS

The games and unlockable content are detailed.

More details have surfaced about Guild 02, the recently announced sequel to Guild 01 from Level-5. 

Similar to Guild 01, Guild 02 is a collaborative effort of four Japanese game developers: Keiji Inafune (formerly of Capcom), Kazu Ayabe (Mini’s Kitchen) and Takemaru Abiko and Kazuya Asano from Chunsoft.

Sequel to Guild 01 Announced 3DS

The new title will feature games by Keiji Inafune, Kazu Ayabe, Takemaru Abiko, and Kazuya Asano.

Level-5’s 3DS game compilation, Guild 01 is getting a sequel. According to a recent issue of Famitsu, the sequel will feature games from former Capcom developer Keiji Inafune, Mini Kitchen’s Kazu Ayabe, and Takemaru Abiko and Kazuya Asano known for the ChunSoft game, Otogiriso. The compilation is titled Guild 02, continuing the first game’s numerical naming trend.

Art of Balance TOUCH! North American Release Date Revealed 3DS

Art of Balance TOUCH! is coming to the North American eShop on June 7, according to the game's developer, Shin'en.

We have known that Art of Balance TOUCH! was coming out in Europe on May 24. The release date of a North American version was previously given for as early June. Now it is officially releasing on June 7 for $6.99.

Mighty Switch Force Update Coming Thursday 3DS

The free update adds new levels, a retry button, and an enhanced stereoscopic effect.

WayForward confirmed that the free update for Mighty Switch Force, revealed last month, is coming this Thursday in North America and Europe.

The update adds five new levels in addition to a much-requested retry button. Additionally, the 3D effect will be bolstered on every level.

Blue Yoshi QR Code Available for North American Copies of Mario Tennis Open 3DS

The release was the result of a Facebook vote.

Blue Yoshi has become available in Mario Tennis Open as the result of a recent Facebook poll determining favorite Yoshi color.

Available as a QR code, players can scan in the character by pressing up and start while on the Profile Select screen. Although treated as a totally separate character on the character select screen, Blue Yoshi carries the same focus on speed as the already-available green version.

UPDATE: Konami kind of 100% confirms 2D 3DS Castlevania game, and the name is slightly different. 

UPDATE 2: N1ntendo.nl was contacted by Konami and asked to remove the story. Additionally, the site discovered links to domain registrations from Konami revealing the title to be Castlevania: Mirror of Fate instead of Castlevania: Mirror of Faith. The domain, which is not active, resolves to the same server as the site of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

First North American Mario Tennis Open QR Code Available 3DS

QR codes appear to be region locked.

Nintendo released the first QR code for Mario Tennis Open in North America, unlocking a Yoshi Costume for your Mii in the game.

To unlock the costume, you have to press up on the D-pad and the Start button at the same time while on the Profile Select screen. Then, take a picture of the QR code on this page and the costume will unlock in every existing profile.

Aliens: Colonial Marines on Wii U Not Playable at E3 2012 WiiU

We won't be reporting back about Wii U motion tracker controls at E3.

The Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines will not be playable at E3 2012, according to representatives from Sega.

This follows earlier news of a delay to February 12, 2013 for other versions of the game. The Wii U version wasn't given the same solid release date, with Sega saying that that version's release date would be announced later.
