Pre-order it from select retailers and get a soundtrack in addition to the art book.

The Last Story will finally come to North America on August 14 and retail for $49.99, according to IGN.

Additionally, Xseed revealed that people who pre-order the game at GameStop, EB Games Canada, and Amazon.com will receive a seven-song soundtrack, containing songs from the game's score composed by Final Fantasy vet Nobuo Uematsu, as a pre-order bonus. The first run of the game is already set to come in special packaging with an art book.

The Last Story first came out in Japan in early 2011, and came out in Europe back in February. It is the second of the three Operation Rainfall games to come out in North America, following Xenoblade Chronicles' release in April as a GameStop exclusive. There are currently no plans for Pandora's Tower to see a stateside release.

Huzzah! Nice to see the little soundtrack sampler as an extra. Sure, it's a bit of a waste of plastic, but I want it anyway.

Amazon.com it is!

Will pre-order immediately.

Well, on the downside the game's been delayed...again (it was July 10th, then July 31st, and now August 14th).  XSeed's basically blown the nice Summer window they had where they could release The Last Story without anything on the Wii or another platform really competing with it.  I don't know why it's been so hard for XSeed to pick a date for this game and stick with it.

On the upside, in addition to the artbook I was already getting for my pre-order, we're getting the 7 track soundtrack that Europe got.  All we're missing is the nice Steelbook case now.  Maybe XSeed will delay the game half a month again and we'll get it too.

I don't think it ever had a solid release date (besides "July"), just retailers speculating.

TJ Spyke is correct. Xseed never delayed it. Retailers just kept pegging a July release.

Will this game live up to its name and truly be the Wii's "last story"?

YmeegodJuly 11, 2012

Newegg has it listed for $40 plus if your an newegg shopper you'll just have recieved an $10 coupon off on pre-orders that combines.

It's a damn shame I would get the CD soundtrack but at $20 savings I can live without it.

Finally a solid release date!

Hopefully not. There are at least two other stories worth telling (or playing) before Wii is done.  Fingers crossed for Project Zero 2!

Will be preordering from Amazon in the next day or two for sure. Finally.
