The popular Super Smash Bros. Brawl blog closes after 11 months of hype and service.

Monday April 14th was a momentous day in the history of Nintendo's Smash Bros. franchise. It was the final day of updates on the popular Smash Bros. Dojo. With posts on every weekday, it offered continuous updates about Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Starting on May 22nd, 2007, the blog ran for about 300 posts and was offered in seven different languages.

Ōkami Is Shipped for Retail Wii

The anticipated port of the acclaimed PS2 game is now out for Wii.

Capcom announced that Ōkami has shipped for Wii. The game, a port of the PS2 classic, has a unique cel-shaded graphical style that enhances the Japanese folklore influence. Additionally, the Wii game will support both 480p output and 16:9 widescreen display modes.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Rated by the ESRB DS

The follow up title to Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin has been revealed by both the ESRB and the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Just a few weeks ago, Konami registered rights to the title Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia under use for video game software. Along with the filing for the title, was the official logo for the game. At that time, it was uncertain as to what systems the game was planned to be made for. As of today, the ESRB has listed a rating of T (Teen) for the title, and listed it as a DS title.

Wii Fit Priced at $89.99 in the U.S. Wii

A free gift will be available for the first 1,000 people who pre-order the game at the Nintendo World store starting on April 18th.

Nintendo announced today that their upcoming fitness game, Wii Fit, will be priced at $89.99 in the United States. The game will come bundled with the Wii Balance Board and will be in stores as early as May 19th.

PC Classic Pipemania Coming to Wii, DS DS

This week on the Virtual Console we see the release of yet another shoot ‘em up, Fantasy Zone. We also see the release of yet another Turrican, Mega Turrican, the Genesis sister title to the SNES title Super Turrican. Both games are horizontal shooters, one in a spaceship and the other on foot.

Treasure to Bring Two New Titles to Wii

The makers of Gunstar Heroes and Sin & Punishment are currently creating two 3-D Wii games.

In an interview with CNET Japan, Treasure president Masato Maegawa revealed that since finishing Ikaruga for the Xbox 360 and Bangai-O Spirits for the DS they have set their sights on Wii. Currently two games are in the works, both featuring a three-dimensional presentation as opposed to Treasure's more traditional two-dimensional offerings. Maegawa also noted that both titles would take special use of the Wii remote.

505 Games Promote Cooking Mama 2 in Yo! Sushi Restaurants DS

Novel game promotion lets UK sushi diners play DS during their meal.

Popular UK restaurant chain Yo! Sushi will now feature preloaded DS systems on their world famous conveyor belt of sushi. Customers will be able to make virtual sushi and other dishes on Cooking Mama 2 while they wait for their food to arrive or challenge each other to cooking competitions wirelessly on the restaurant floor. Diners also have the chance to win free DS systems and copies of Cooking Mama 2 as part of the campaign.

Toki Tori Coming to WiiWare Wii

The Gameboy Color classic from Two Tribes gets a remake for the launch of WiiWare.

Toki Tori was a well received, but fairly unknown, Gameboy Color game from 2001. Developer Two Tribes is taking advantage of Nintendo’s WiiWare service to revive this sleeper hit.

The title will feature new content along with a new look and a brand new control scheme, leveraging the features of the Wii Remote. Players will be able to take use of ten tools and weapons across sixty levels to find lost eggs in this puzzle-platformer.

Nintendo Confirms Mario Super Sluggers Wii

New Mario baseball game hits Japan in June and everywhere else later this year.

During today’s media summit in San Francisco, Nintendo revealed Mario Super Sluggers, a new Mario sports title. The game will expand on the Wii Remote controls used in Wii Sports version of baseball.

Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People to hit WiiWare in June.

A few weeks ago, Telltale Games announced that they were working on a new episodic point-and-click adventure series for WiiWare that wasn’t Sam & Max, for which the developer is best known for. Nintendo to Re-release White Gamecube Controller in Japan GC

Controller to release sometime this month.

According to Nintendo’s Japanese website, a White Gamecube Controller is due out this month in Japan. The controller will be released at a 2,000 Yen (approximately $20) price point. The cord will now be three meters long, 50% greater than the length of the original GameCube controllers.

Ignition Entertainment’s Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys is set to be released next week.

Due for an April 15th release in the U.S., Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys has gone gold. With gameplay reminiscent of the Lost Vikings, the game features a zany comic-book story starring three zombie protagonists as they do battle against the villainous Big Brain.

The game was already released in Europe on March 28th.

Atlus’ dungeon crawler sees release in the United States for the first time.

Atlus announced that their new Wii game, Baroque, is now in stores. The game, a remake of a Japanese Sega Saturn game, is a dungeon crawling RPG. It touts an innovative feature where the story is actually furthered when your character dies in game. It also features the use of the Wii’s motion controls and promises to offer a grand challenge.

Ace Attorney: Prosecutor Edition Confirmed

Capcom have confirmed Turnabout Prosecutor, a spin-off from the Phoenix Wright series on Nintendo DS. The lead characters will be Miles Edgeworth and Dick Gumshoe, both from the original series.

A project dubbed “New Turnabout Not Courtroom” was announced by Capcom to be revealed this month. The Ace Attorney series is known as “Turnabout Courtroom” in Japan so for a while, many people expected news of a continuing concert series. Few expected an Ace Attorney game with a viewpoint from the opposite side of the courtroom, as revealed in the most recent edition of the Japanese magazine, Famitsu.
