UPDATE April 20: The demo is now live in the North American eShop.
The Grand National may have passed, but Europe's about to get its horse race on soon.
This week's Nintendo download announcement for Europe confirmed that Pocket Card Jockey, the GameFreak developed horse racing / solitaire crossover, will have a demo with this week's eShop update and will release on 5 May.

They come with the ability to play it loud.
Although there won't be a system bundle, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE will have a limited edition for all territories.
The package will be known as a limited edition in North America, but will be known as the "Fortissimo Edition" outside. The package will contain stickers, a soundtrack sampler, an art book, and costume DLC (which will be sold separately for US$1.99 ea).

A couple of extra months to ensure the 2016 Game of the Year award.
Originally tabbed for late spring, Next Level's project has landed in the slot most expected.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force will launch first in North America on August 19, Japan on the August 25, and in Europe/Australia following on September 2/3. The game was tabbed for a June release in Japan and a "late spring" release in the West previously.

Friend of the site Damon Baker is an Axiom Verge slow-player.
Following a brief hiccup of Youtube privacy, Nintendo released a video spotlighting some of the games coming to Wii U and 3DS in the coming months.
The video, hosted by Nintendo 3rd party relations chief Damon Baker, gave special spotlight to the upcoming Tumblestone and Axiom Verge. Both games received updated release windows: summer for multiplayer puzzle game Tumblestone, and by the end of June (Q2) for Axiom Verge.

Get pumped for the latest adventures of the Lylat System
Nintendo has announced a special animated short and Treehouse Live presentation ahead of Friday's Star Fox Zero release.
The short will air on Wednesday (April 20) at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 p.m. Pacific and 2300 BST, and is a co-production of WIT Studios and Production IG, with Shigeru Miyamoto producing.

March's two big Wii U releases were the big winners in the monthly physical US sales according to the NPD Group.

Getting a physical release with extra goodies as well
After the ESRB announced it, XSEED is inviting 3DS owners to a Corpse Party.
The horror game will release this summer on the eShop for $29.99, or with a limited physical edition for $49.99 that includes a full soundtrack and two miniature character figures. The "Back to School" edition is similar to how XSEED released Senran Kagura 2 last year.

Yacht Club Games has revealed updated sales figures for Shovel Knight, and the Nintendo numbers are quite strong.

The sequel to 2013's surprise hit has a North American name and window.
Finally, Atlus has announced the next Shin Megami Tensei IV game outside of Japan.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse will release in North America this summer, for US$49.99/CA$64.99. The story, which overlaps the original Shin Megami Tensei IV story, promises over 450 demons and several human partners.

Will they play "Sweet Victory" when the shells are handed out?
History has been made with the first cross-region Splatfest.
The Splatoon event will allow players from Europe, Australia and North America to compete against each other, and as such the times will be different than a typical event. April's Splatfest will launch at 9 a.m. Eastern on April 23rd, and run until April 24 at 3 p.m. Eastern.

As you'd expect from the name, this game's a killer.
The ESRB is indicating XSEED plans to bring a well-known adventure series to North American 3DS owners.
The horror adventure title Corpse Party, which released in 2010 for the PlayStation Portable, received a port to the 3DS last year in Japan with an additional chapter. An ESRB rating has emerged showing that XSEED has intentions of localizing this version.

Filling in that last blank on the title screen
Runbow is getting a major update this week that brings a major expansion and a mix of free and paid additional content.
Thursday's update will bring Lilac from Freedom Planet into the game's cast, as well as add additional content options. The biggest part is Runbow's first expansion, "Satura's Space Adventure". New costume and music packs will also be available including a "Professionals", "Steampunk", "Winter" and "Anime" pack.

One adds weapons, one takes a really broken one away.
In addition to the usual Monday maintenance next week, two major games will have maintenance ahead of game updates.
Splatoon will have a maintenance Tuesday at 8:50 - 10:30 Eastern time to prepare for the version 2.7 update. The update, announced in last month's Nintendo Direct, will bring eight new weapon sets to the game. The Squid Research Lab has announced four of them:

A reliable source of information seems to suggest more than the DSi Shop is ending.
According to a since-deleted tweet from a Canadian retailer, production of DS cards may be winding down.
The tweet indicates that VudeoGamesPlus. may have "exclusive reprints" as a result of the change. VideoGamesPlus also outed North America's recent Nintendo Selects additions weeks before their eventual release.
