The publisher/developer of the Professor Layton series plans to begin publishing the games outside of Japan without Nintendo.

Japanese launch date is confirmed by the game's official site.
Nintendo's official Japanese site for Metroid: Other M has confirmed a release date of September 2 in the territory, following shortly after its August 31 release in North America.
The site has also been updated with plenty of new images and information about the game's story, characters, and gameplay.

Charles Martinet present at midnight opening at the Oxford Street GAME store in London.
To celebrate the long awaited arrival of Super Mario Galaxy 2 to UK shores, GAME in Oxford Street, London will be hosting a midnight launch from 11pm to 1am.
Festivities on the day include game signings and photo opportunities with Charles Martinet, voice of Mario and friends. The first 50 people to attend dressed as Mario will earn a goody bag with Super Mario Galaxy 2 treats.

Great Britain will be getting a price drop for the Nintendo DSi at almost the same exact time as Japan.
Citizens of the United Kingdom will soon see a price drop for the Nintendo DSi.
Nintendo's official comment states, "In the UK Nintendo will be reducing the trade price of Nintendo DSi to retailers from June 18, 2010. The ultimate price to consumers is, of course, determined by the retailers." It is not yet known how much Nintendo is cutting the system's price for retailers.

Nintendo unveils a release date for their upcoming party title. Rumors swirl about a Wii Party bundle and Metroid: Other M Japanese release date.
While Nintendo only recently revealed the existence of Wii Party, a release date is coming much sooner than many may have expected. According to an updated release calendar on Nintendo’s Japanese website, Wii Party will be released on July 8 in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Nintendo will be lowering the price of the DS in Japan, as well as releasing the DSi in three new aesthetically pleasing colors.
In the near future, all three currently available DS hardware varieties in Japan will see a price change. The makers of Just Dance have a new music game in development, featuring songs from hit Broadway shows like Chicago and Fame.
Ubisoft announced today that they will be releasing Dance on Broadway for the Wii later this month. Players will be able to shake their groove things to songs from popular Broadway shows like Chicago, Fame, Hair, The Sound of Music, and Little Shop of Horrors.

Much like the film version of Deathly Hallows, the game version will be split in two.
According to a press release from EA, the game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be split into two parts, much like the movie adaptation. The first part will be released this fall on Wii, DS, and all other major platforms. This falls in line with the movie release, which is set for November 19, 2010. The second film is due out the following summer, but no release date for the game has been specified.

EA Sports is developing an ice hockey title for Wii that will ship with a hockey stick peripheral and feature one of the greatest hockey players of all time.
Unlike last year, The NHL 2K series will no longer be the only choice in town for Wii hockey fans. The QMI Agency is reporting that EA Sports will soon announce their first ice hockey title for Wii called NHL Slapshot.

Nintendo investigates working conditions in response to recent suicides at the production firm.
MarketWatch has reported that the Japanese business daily Nikkei confirmed that Nintendo will be joining companies including Apple in investigating the working conditions at Foxconn, the company responsible for assembling Wii consoles. This is in response to the recent suicides at the Shenzhen facility, operated by Foxconn Technology Group.

The covers for each game will feature new legendary Pokémon Reshiram and Zekrom.
Today, Nintendo announced what we all knew was coming: Pokémon Black and White, the upcoming entries in the popular series, are coming to North America and Europe.
Due for a spring 2011 release, roughly a year after Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, Black and White's covers will feature Reshiram and Zekrom respectively.

Longtime favorites see huge dips in this week's Japanese sales charts.
Despite 13 new games debuting in the top 30 this week, with six of those being in the top 10, no game managed to exceed the 100,000 mark, though Lost Planet 2 for the PlayStation 3 came pretty close.

New console Pokémon game due out soon.
Pokémon spin-offs are anything but rare on the Wii, with games such as Pokémon Battle Revolution, Pokémon Rumble, and My Pokémon Ranch being released over the past few years.
