Sam Fisher returns with new missions...and online multiplayer?

Ubi Soft Entertainment confirmed today the next Splinter Cell installment, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, will be released in Q1 2004.

This sequel is being developed as a multiplatform title and will bring back more of the single-player intrigue that made the original game a bestseller. With exciting new action scenes and a strong cinematic feel, the player will experience new and even more realistic surroundings.

Pandora Tomorrow will the be the first stealth game ever to feature multiplayer online missions, allowing several players to simultaneously share Sam Fisher's shadowy world of espionage.

It's unknown at this point if the online features will be included in the GameCube version, or if the game is even slated for release on GameCube. However, online is not out of the question, given the recent enlightening comments made by Satoru Iwata to USA Today.

Looks like MS couldn't hit Ubi Soft with a money hat for the sequel... be nice to get it at the same time as the Xbox version. Suppose I will just hold off on getting the first now and see how the second pans out.

Magic Online Prediction for GameCube: no, just like every other multi-platform "online" title.

The day they put online in the GameCube version is the day I eat my hat.

My question is: How will it play?

I'm trying to envision stealth multiplayer (Get the most stealth kills as opposed to just running around killing each other) Co-op play seems feasible, it'd be interesting how deathmatch will be implemented.

Online play for Gamecube? we'll see....

Depends on how soon the announcement is and how far along the software is. The online announcment may be the reason they are finally getting around to releasing the SD adapter.
