TDK Mediactive Announces Licensing Agreement With Mattel On Masters of the Universe

CALABASAS, Calif., May 14, 2002: TDK Mediactive, Inc. (OTCBB:TDKM), a global publisher of interactive entertainment software, today announced a worldwide, multi-year exclusive licensing agreement with Mattel, Inc. (NYSE:MAT) to publish software based on Masters of the Universe(R). The agreement grants TDK Mediactive exclusive rights to publish interactive Masters of the Universe games for console systems manufactured by Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft, as well as PC.

"Masters of the Universe is a retro-brand that is still tremendously popular," said Vincent Bitetti, chief executive officer of TDK Mediactive. "And with the brand resurgence, it's the perfect time to make the leap into the video game arena."

He-Man(R), the most powerful man in the Universe, re-joins the Masters of the Universe(R) to once again battle the forces of evil. Twenty years after He-Man was first introduced, Mattel is bringing back the popular toy line, an updated version of the warrior-hero from Eternia(R), for a new generation of fans, featuring action figures and playsets.
