It's a great month for free Pokémon!

Pinsir and Heracross, powerful bug type Pokémon, will be distributed via the Internet, with their Mega Stones being available at Gamestop later this month.

On August 13, players can receive their Pokémon via the Mystery Gift option in Pokémon X and Y. Those who have Pokémon X will receive Heracross, while Pokémon Y players will receive Pinsir. Starting August 18 through August 30, those who go to Gamestop can see a serial code on flyers that will allow them to download their Pokémon's respective Heracronite or Pinsirite Mega Stone..

Both Pokémon will be at level 50 with the Adamant nature. Heracross will know Bullet Seed, Pin Missile, Close Combat, and Megahorn, while Pinsir will have the moves X-Scissor, Earthquake, Stone Edge, and Return.

At least they're giving up their mega stones, so this isn't a total waste of time

so I guess they finally worked something out with gamestop, that's great.

I believe in previous gens this stuff was done over local wireless so it's interesting they've gone the serial code route.

I don't think that's what we were complaining about before but maybe I misread the script ;)

It's strange that the Pinsir & Herracross aren't simply HOLDING their respective Mega Stones. This means I'll have to go to GS twice.

IDK it's pretty easy to get either of them.

Just once, actually. The Pokemon are handed out over the Internet.

Kinda ridiculous that you have to download them then go to a Gamestop to get the megastones. Would have been much easier just for them to stick both on the Gamestop promotion or over the internet. Eh, I never liked Pinsir, but its is free so I won't turn it down.

Mega Stones only available in the US, not Canada?

Sometimes, Nintendo, I really hate you. This is one of those times.
