MegaPikachu, use MegaThunderbolt!

Pokémon X and Y will support a new type of evolution called Mega Evolution, as shown in a recent issue of CoroCoro.

While the details of performing a Mega Evolution have not been fully disclosed yet, a few new forms have been shown including: MegaBlaziken, MegaMewtwo, MegaAbsol, MegaMawile and MegaLucario.

Mega Evolution gives the Pokémon new abilities (such as giving MegaMewtwo Insomnia), and alters their physical appearance.

We're still waiting on a full translation of CoroCoro for all the details, but it appears the new version of Mewtwo that we've seen in the past is, in fact, MegaMewtwo.

They look really cool and they don't seem to be true evolutions but alternate forms. If they are anything like the new Mewtwo it won't completely outclass it's former self.

But holy crap! Apparently they can only be used during battle. Word on the street is they might have to hold the megastone, which is actually going to be great if true! Wit hall these Pokemon holding mega stones, Choice items, left overs, etc, all that use will be cut in half!

I am so excited! Some Pokemon even with full 3 stage evolutions are getting a second chance! Eletric and Dragon Amphoros? Yes please!!!!!!

Jump the Sharpedo my apples!

You know I think I've heard this before...

Oh Wait... So are Pokemons now the Champions?

Here's hoping Mega Evolved pokemon technically count as an evolution so we can have really broken Evoulite shinanigans. MegaShuckle, anybody?!? :D

Word from the field is it's more like a Burst mode.

Also, we can confirm that the Charizard and Typhlosion Mega-evos will be Fire/Fighting, and someone needs to get banned NOW before he floods the server.

I'm just worried that Magmortar and Electivire will get "mega evolutions" and poor Jynx will still be ignored and forgotten.

ok... then,  I can see this creating all sorts of hell at smogon, it will likely make the dream world abilities look like a minor disturbance

to put this into perspective...
Charizard currently has a banlist there because of how ridiculous the boosts he got from his dream world ability(which during a sun weather effect gives him 8 turns to live without healing but boosts attacks by a ridiculous margin, add in the fact that fire type attacks get another boost from his own fire typing and that the sun gives its own boost to fire attacks and you can see where people begin to say "overpowered")

WahAugust 08, 2013

Any news about Megalucario?

VahneAugust 08, 2013

Huh........maybe...just maybe...even if my dragon-type Eevee doesn't get into this game, a MegaCharizard and especially a MegaTyphlosion WILL convince me to get it.

His ability is sort of OD next to the other Gen I starters. Venusaur gets a speed boost in the sun *yawn* but that helps his solarbeam and synthesis, I guess. Meanwhile Blastoise recovers some HP in the rain.

Charizard basically goes Super Sayan in the sunshine with his by comparison.

No!!!!!!

Also Jynx was mentioned to have some sort of evolution in one of the main rumors that has been proven true time after time. Jynx is getting some love!
