The last of the three Operation Rainfall games is almost here.

Pandora's Tower is set to release across North America on April 16, according to XSEED Games via their official Twitter account.

Pandora's Tower was one of three games that fans fought hard to bring to North America over the last two years. Following 2012's releases of Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story, XSEED Games announced earlier this year that they were publishing Pandora's Tower in North America. While no official release date had been given, an April release was expected. On April 16, North American gamers will finally be able to experience the last of the Operation Rainfall titles.

In Pandora's Tower, players control Aeron, a man on a quest to save his cursed friend Elena. Throughout the game you will explore towers, defeat monsters, and try to save your friend. Read Andrew's review for more details.

All hail Project Rainfall!

Despite feeling compelled to support it, I decided not to pick this up when it was released in Europe, but I'm very glad to see that the lesser sibling of the Rainfall Three will get it's moment to shine.

Awesome.

I'm glad to have played and finished (American copies) Xenoblade and The Last Story.

My wife pre-ordered Pandora's Tower for me, can't wait to jump into it!

I've got so many games I'm actively playing at the moment though! Let's see if I can clear them out by April 16...

Damn, that's coming up quick.  I hope it the stores in my area carry it.  A new Wii game at this point is probably not going to be a very high profile release.  You think Xenoblade has become rare?  Fuck it, this will probably top it just due to it being one of the last Wii games released in North America (is it the last Wii game period?)

I got Last Story for my birthday back in December but have been so busy I have not had a chance to play it and still have Xenoblade to finish (though I have played a lot of it; it's just a huge game).  This will probably just sit unplayed for a couple of months but it isn't like I can just pick it up then.  Gotta get it now or never.

Due to the Wii's reputation as a casual console I can see games like these gaining a reputation similar to well regarded Sega Saturn games that were ignored at the time.  The target audience for the Rainfall games is not the typical Wii audience and they all came out well after the Wii ceased to be relevant.  10 years from now the Rainfall games will be the Holy Grail of Wii collecting.

And I'll make sure to sell my copies for a crap ton of money. :P

It's a decent game.  I've played the European version and I can successfully say that there are a lot of things they have done right.  On the other hand, the game is EXTREMELY bogged down by the visuals - and feels like a game from the early 2000's than anything else.  If you can get beyond that, not to mention going back and forth after every part to feed your girlfriend beast flesh, and its overall Japanese weirdness, it's enjoyable, if not a tad bit repetitive.

If this game came out around the Wii's launch, it would have been considered one of the best on the console.  If it had even come out on the PS2, even better.  But it didn't, it hadn't, and here we are.

I think the only reason XenoBlade got crazy is due to its reputation as a GameStop exclusive. The Last Story has gotten pretty cheap and is still available from XSEED, and so Pandora's Tower will be the same and likely also be available on XSEED's website for several years.

Congratulations on saying that successfully. Well done.
