It's the only Nintendo news to come out of Sony's PS4 reveal.

Watch Dogs is coming to Wii U, Ubisoft finally confirmed.

Following Sony's PlayStation 4 event, where they showed off a real-time demo of the game, Ubisoft issued a press release saying that the game would see release on not only the PlayStation 4, but also the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and of course, the Wii U.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, with an assist from Bucharest, Paris, Quebec, and Reflections, Watch_Dogs is an open world game where the player uses technology to fight against oppressive forces. The game takes place in Chicago and stars Aiden Pearce, who has the ability to hack into the city's ctOS (central operating system).

I hate it when the press gives in to studios stupid stylistic decisions (like writing the game as Watch_Dogs. Whatever, I am glad Wii U is getting it.

This game, and what it could mean for 3rd parties on Wii U, may have just made the PS4 irrelevant for me for a few years. If this game is technically viable, aka no huge issues, and it has proper and interesting Gamepad support, then I will get it for Wii U.

Which means that if the Wii U is able to get more 3rd party support, and it doesn't degrade as time goes on, then I will always choose the Wii U version of these games simply because of the Gamepad (unless they don't put in the effort).

The PS4 version may have the most beautiful graphics in the world, but no Gamepad may end up meaning no buy.

That's the official, Ubisoft-designated title though.

(Which means Ubisoft are what they would call les incompetents.)

And when Sony released it, they called the PlayStation 3 the "PLAYSTATION®3 Computer Entertainment System". Should we have written it like that? Even now they write "PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system". Sony writes "inFAMOUS". Nintendo has "GiFTPIA". Namco Bandai has "THE iDOLM@STER". Compaies use odd stylistic choices sometimes, I don't think we should give in to that.

And when you run your own game site, you can feel free to do that and annoy the publisher for no real benefit.

Musn't upset the masters!

Do you really think Ubisoft will care if you write it as "Watch Dogs" in news stories rather than "Watch_Dogs" or "WATCH_DOGS"?

I'd like to think my continuous patronage of Ubisoft products on Nintendo systems had something to do with this, from Sprung and Ener-G Dance Squad on the DS to Farcry: Vengeance and Red Steel 2 on the Wii.

...well, probably not, but this makes me feel good anyways!

I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to buy this Ubisoft game on my Wii U! Hallelujah!

I knew to keep my eye on this game, but after the seeing the gameplay demo I am 100% convinced. Holy crap this looks like a lot of fun! Kind of how I imagine life would be by now.

I hate to say it, but I'll probably buy this on my PS4 or PC. :\

I'll probably buy it on the next XBox thing :zoid:

The most realistic facet of Watch Dogs is the insane levels of violence and government control in the President’s hometown.

It will be interesting to see how far Ubisoft takes Wii U with this game, considering it’s cross-gen. NFS:MW is at based on the PC version; I don’t see why this shouldn’t be part of the next-gen trio.

This is definitely the "big game" i'm most intrigued by.  Last years demo definitely pinged my Deus Ex antenna.

Can I buy it from you used when you're done with it?

...OH WAIT.
