More details on the deal that will finally get Scurge published; GBA Juka also on the way.

Correction: Juka & The Monophonic Menace is actually a GBA game, and is not coming to the DS. We apologize for the mix-up.

SouthPeak Interactive and Orbital Media Form New Business Relationship

SouthPeak to Publish Orbital Media's Juka & The Monophonic Menace and Scurge: Hive Launching October 24th for Nintendo's Handheld Consoles

GRAPEVINE, Texas and CALGARY, Alberta, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- SouthPeak Interactive, a leading independent publisher, and Orbital Media, a videogame developer for handheld videogames, announced today that they have teamed up. SouthPeak Interactive will be publishing Orbital Media's upcoming titles, Juka & The Monophonic Menace for the Game Boy® and Scurge: Hive for the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS™.

"Partnering with SouthPeak was absolutely the right direction for us to go and we are very excited to join forces with them on our highly anticipated titles," said Steve Shatford, President and CEO of Orbital Media.

Juka and the Monophonic Menace features Juka, a young Alchemist, whose peaceful world is turned upside down when local villages start to disappear. Juka must use his power of potion creation and master the ancient art of The Sound Staff if he is to make his way through the many quests, puzzles, and Menace Machines that he will encounter while trying to free the land of Obla from the evil Monophonic Menace.

Scurge: Hive features Jenosa Arma, the game's main character, who is a bounty hunter. Forty-eight hours ago, a distress signal was sent from a remote research lab studying a virulent organism identified as the "Scurge." Scientists have been studying its remarkable metamorphic and energy abilities. Armed with top-secret projectile gauntlets and a prototype battle suit, Jenosa has been commissioned by a black-ops cell from the government to investigate and salvage any research technology from within the facility.

"We are delighted about our new relationship with Orbital Media," said Katie Morgan, Executive Vice President of SouthPeak Interactive. "Juka and Scurge are dynamic and innovative titles, and we look forward to working with Orbital on their upcoming product launches."

Awesome. I was looking forward to both these GBA games for a while; nice to see that they're getting DS revisions. Well, I think I heard about the Scurge one but it's nice to have that reconfirmed as well as an upgrade for Juka. (EDIT: Wait...where does it say Juka will be on the DS? I don't see it here, unless I'm going blind...)

I like quality games that look colourful and fun.

Now why won't someone pick up Shantae Advance? At this point they might as well make it Shantae DS.

You're not blind, I am. It's still a GBA game, my mistake.

Yay! A GBA game to buy!
