Several actors from The Godfather films will voice the game.

Update: An official announcement today from EA confirms this news, but also confirms that the game is not planned for any Nintendo platforms.

The Hollywood Reporter is, well reporting, that both Robert Duvall and James Caan have signed on to provide voice acting for EA's forthcoming game based on The Godfather. The two will reprise their roles as Tom Hagen (Duvall) and Sonny Corleone (Caan). In addition to these two famous actors, EA also secured rights to previous recordings from Marlon Brando for the game. The rights were secured prior to Brando's passing in July of 2004.

In addition to securing the rights to these renowned actors, EA has also gained rights to use the Grammy-award winning music comprised by Nino Rota for the film.

Let it be known now that I think making a game based off of The Godfather is a sin. Especially if it's EA doing it.

Screens from the game, being developed by, um... EA Japan?!

Is this game even coming out on the GC? From what I've heard, it's PS2 only, or PS2/Xbox...

JhiandoFebruary 01, 2005

Isn't this ONLY coming out for everyone BUT the Gamecube?

FamicomFebruary 02, 2005

How unlike EA to support all the platforms...I wonder what's the deal?

It's not like they can throw Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Little Mac in this one.

Bloody Hell. They might as well make a Goodfellas one next-god I loved that movie face-icon-small-smile.gif

Why the hell would someone write 'Grammy award winning music'!? The second film won the Oscar for Original Score and there's no way the Grammy means more than the Oscar for film music.

What do you mean they can't throw the Mario Bros into this one? Mario's Italian, for goodness sakes. It would work perfectly. I'd love to blast my way up the crime syndicate as a fat, Italian plumber.

Plus, then we could throw it in Iwata’s face that he said we wouldn’t see Mario beating up hookers in the near future.

They already had Marlon Brando's voice actor for the German version of Gangland...
