The 2019 Nintendo Black Friday Survival Guide

Black Friday In Canada

I would do a Don Cherry impression here, but all caps and racism are both verboten.

In the ever-shrinking Canadian retail space, there has been a bit of a push to get Black Friday over at the expense of the typical Canadian shopping spree that is Boxing Day. (Boxing Day having the advantage of being able to spend those gift cards you got for Christmas, amirite?)

For this year, the most common deals are the Mario Kart 8 Switch bundle for C$399.9x, Breath of the Wild or Mario Odyssey for $59.99, or a Joy-Con pair for $79.99. Some other offers, such as the Pokémon Let's Go games for $40 at Amazon or Walmart, will actually end on Wednesday, as they were consideed pre-BF deals, and some (like Shoppers Drug Mart offering $125 gift cards with Switch purchase) are already expired. A full, updating listing of deals can be found on Reddit.

The actual unique BF deals are...

Best Buy: $24.99 128GB microSD card (256GB $79.99), Mortal Kombat 11 $29.99

EBGames: Collection of Mana $29.99, Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition $19.99, Final Fantasy X/X-2 $29.99, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age $29.99, Hello Neighbor $19.99, Hello Neighbor Hide & Seek $19.99, Saints Row The Third $19.99, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 $19.99, Valkyria Chronicles 4 $19.99

Walmart: Orange 2DSXL $149.96, Just Dance 2020 $39.96, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 $59.99, Super Mario Party $59.96, Super Smash Bros Ultimate $59.96

(RIP Toys 'R Us: they didn't make it to last year's BF in the US, and now they don't seem to have a Black Friday flyer for Canada this year.)
