Physics class was never this much fun.
As a kid who had never owned Super Mario 64, I was excited for Super Mario 64 DS at the launch of the DS in 2004. I had played the game a ton previously, but I was giddy with anticipation for the new version with three additional playable characters and extra content. On launch day, I successfully acquired a system and Super Mario 64 DS without issue. About a half-hour later I lost a stylus.
I relished playing through Super Mario 64 again, and even played a few levels with the silly thumb nub. My most memorable moments with the game occured courtesy of the multiplayer and my Physics class in high school. During the second half of the 2004-2005 school year, members of my class slowly got DS systems, and we began to play Super Mario 64 multiplayer and PictoChat during class. It even extended to nearby classrooms, courtesy of the system's wireless capabilities. There was a time when members of three different Physics classes were playing DS at the same time. It was epic.
Everyone seems to despise the DS launch window, but I have nothing but fond memories of it. I caught up on Game Boy Advance games (I only had a launch GBA previously), played games such as Yoshi Touch & Go, and just generally enjoyed the system.
