Roll out!

Mission:Max’s Folly? (1st option)
Difficulty:Medium
Ideal CO:Max
Enemy CO:Grit

Strategy:This is the first mission that can’t be easily beaten by simple brute force. The goal is to simply stay alive for 5 days. The problem is that your HQ is in the center of the map, and you don’t start anywhere near it. If you just hide in your corner, Grit will have infantry walk into your HQ and conquer it before the five days are up. If you want to win, you’re going to need to get at least one Tank next to your HQ by the fourth day. Since you have so many Tanks, you can afford to lose a couple. Move all of these Tanks upwards along the road. Move the regular Tank’s first because your Md Tank’s are too slow to get to your HQ in time. To minimize casualties, move your Artillery and Missile units in positions that will allow you to get a few shots in on the enemy over the mountain ranges. As a bonus, Grit will fire back at these distance units instead of your destroying all of your Tanks (a good thing since for your CO, Max, they’re relatively weak units anyway). You might even take advantage of your infantry’s ability to move directly over mountains by loading one of them on the APC and dropping it off to the left of your HQ on the second day. On day 2 Grit will use Snipe Attack to further weaken your forces. On day three his infantry will reach your HQ and begin capturing it. If you can’t move a unit in to damage this infantry before Grit’s next turn, you will lose. Even if you do hurt it, you have to either do 6 points of damage to it, or finish him off on the last day. Otherwise it will finish capturing your HQ. Once you have this infantry taken out, you just have to survive one more attack from Grit. Make sure one of your units is out of his attack range and victory is yours.

Mission:Sniper!
Difficulty:Easy
Ideal CO:Max
Enemy CO:Grit

Strategy:This is the first Campaign mission that features Fog of War. It really doesn't matter which CO you choose here, neither have a huge advantage. As Max reminds Andy your units can hide in the forests, but so can Grit's. This is a major pain the arse. Your first turn should mainly have your units crawl forward into various Forest terrain squares. There's a good reason for this: there's a Rocket hiding to the south, and can nearly wipe out any unit in its sights. Make sure to send a Recon unit out so you can get a good idea of what is out there: there's also an Artillery hanging about on the main road to the east.

Did we mention that Grit is at home during Fog of War? Yeah, we thought so.

Anyway, keep creeping along by jumping from Forest to Forest, and hopefully there won't be any really rude surprises from Grit's end. Be extremely careful with your Air units, as even when stationed on forest terrain, they are still visible, since the game considers them hovering over the area. Grit has a Missile hanging about so this can become a real headache if you're attempting to transport troops via T-Copter. You'll find it in the town due east of your HQ (approximately the top middle of the map.) As for other Rocket units, the other in the town surrounded by mountains to the east.

The easiest way to complete this map is to send troops on an APC to take over Grit's HQ. Finding every unit can take more time and frustration than is worthwhile. Be careful when you pass the island on the extreme upper right hand of the map: there's at least one Rocket and Missile unit hiding there. Our final note is that there is an Artillery one square to the right of Grit's HQ. Just pummel it and you'll easily finish the map.

Mission:Blizzard Battle!
Difficulty:Easy
Ideal CO:Max
Enemy CO:Olaf

Strategy:Time for a new battle strategy! As Nell will tell you, the first person to Capture 12 bases will be declared the victor. Fortunately, this includes your HQ and whatever bases you started out with. Max is the best choice for this area, as he has the muscle to quickly wipe out enemy troops, and defend crucial areas with his Md Tanks.

Your first move should have the big Md Tank to move onto the bridge to the east, as far as it will go. Next send an infantry man via APC to the two towns that the Md Tank is guarding for you. Bring down Olaf's city first and then capture the neutral. Your other forces should move North at a quick pace. Be warned, there's an enemy Md Tank stalking the area along with other regular units. If you've got another APC, unload the troops and let it be used as a decoy while your infantry run about capturing the nearby cities. As soon as possible, have a Tank (or preferably Md Tank) block the northernmost bridge to prevent any more infantry units passing through. After that it's merely a matter of capturing the city just there and you've won. You should have this mission wrapped up in less than 8 days.

Mission:History Lesson
Difficulty:Very Easy
Ideal CO:Max
Enemy CO:Grit

Strategy:Much as the mission name suggests, you and Andy are in for a little bit of Orange Star Army history. At one time, Nell, Max and Grit were the closest of friends. Max decides to confront Grit and find out why he joined up with Blue Moon.

The strategy for this area is rather straightforward: Just scope out the area with your Subs and carefully get a launcher with at least one Infantry unit to the enemy HQ. Be warned: there's a B-ship hiding to the seas north of the area. Make sure you send a Sub there to prevent it from attacking your infantry. If you do that, you'll should have the map completed in 7 days, S-Rank in hand.

Mission:Olaf's Navy (1st Option)
Difficulty:Easy
Ideal CO:Max
Enemy CO:Olaf

Strategy:This mission is much easier than it looks. You can basically ignore your sea units. Sure, you might want to move them around for the fun of it, but they don’t really serve any purpose other than to distract Olaf’s Navy. With your land units, you simply move North as quickly as possible. By the second turn all of your units should be well out of the range of Olaf’s Battleships. The rest of the map is cake. Just make sure you take out the Rocket Launcher unit that is hiding in the forest on the right side of the bridge and keep at least one infantry or mech unit alive to capture the enemy HQ. You may encounter a Tank or two, but they should be easy pickings for Max’s raw strength.
