DS - Best Port or Remake
Yes, this game has an awesome soundtrack. Yes, its visuals are painstakingly detailed. But the rest of Final Fantasy IV has also been retooled for the Nintendo DS.
Whereas Final Fantasy IV Advance was a fairly conservative port, the DS remake massages level statistics and introduces both skill augments and an auto-battle option to balance the package out, making it feel like a modern Japanese RPG without compromising its difficulty. The brand new localization is also a significant improvement over the GBA version, and of course leagues better than the SNES original's, which was crippled by memory constraints. Final Fantasy IV has been remade several times, but this one is easily the best.
