Billy's original ramblings that got what is now Planet Gamecube off to a start!

Welcome to the Page!

First off I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Billy Berghammer. I am a 26-year-old video game junkie. I decided to create this site, actually out of boredom. I recently lost my job, and had some time on my hands. I used to write for an extremely well put together Nintendo 64 web site called The Unofficial Nintendo 64 Headquarters. This page is in no part trying to emulate the success of that web site, but if it accomplishes 1/100th of it’s success I would be very proud.

I also want to say that I personally haven’t given up on the N64 yet. A lot of people seem to think Nintendo should just ditch the N64 now, and work on their next toy. I disagree. First of all, the N64 is just reaching it’s prime. There are a lot of BIG games still on the horizon. Just because Zelda has come and gone doesn’t mean the N64 is dead. And with the large user base the N64 has earned in the past 3 years, Dinosaurs are still flying.

The Next Generation race is underway again. The Dreamcast has already been released in Japan, The Playstation 2’s specs have been running rampant, and now Nintendo will step up to the plate once again. This web site’s mission is to document the new system from Nintendo. The N2000. That is why I am here.

It’s going to be a long slow road. Plus the creation of this web site is going to be a very large learning experience. Ultimately, I think it will be fun. When do I think the new Nintendo console will be out? Hmmmm…that’s a good question. Unfortunately, later than sooner I believe. Possibly Mid to late 2001. But until then, it’ll be my duty to try to bring the most news on this topic to the forefront. Even when there isn't a whole lot out there yet.

I hope you enjoy the site!
