Take a gander upon what you can download right now and in the short term!

Version 2.0 of Mario Kart 8 is now out and about and it includes some nifty functions for the title! Downloadable content has been added to the game and you can now put a course map on your television. For this and more new options, check out the three videos below.

If the DLC had just been more karts and characters I wouldn't even but it at .99, but with 12 tracks for $12 it's a no brainer for me

16 tracks...

My idea for DLC was for Nintendo to re-jig the tracks from all previous 7 iterations (SMK - 7), and sell the track packs for anywhere between $4.99 and $9.99. Super Mario Kart track pack, $4.99. Mario Kart Wii track pack, $9.99. Etc., etc., etc.

I wish Zelda had been with Link's set, not more Mario and Peach's.  I also wish more characters will get alt color treatment like yoshi and shy guy.  The mercedes have been fun to play as so far.

This is amazing.  I'm so excited for this!

Huh, weird how it loads on the DLC icons for tracks and characters even though they won't be out for a while. I guess there isn't more room for icons as things are now, so I hope that doesn't mean there won't be more...

Impressive. DLC that doesn't force you to back out of the game and load the eShop to download.

Wow you're right. That's new and awesome was this past of the last system update?

The best part of the update is that the "View Highlight Reel" option is now no longer the first option after finishing a race, "Next Race" is. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally picked the wrong option.

Funny thing is the first time I played after the update I instinctively picked the second option, which is now the highlight reel.

Will someone please clue me in. Why is everyone eager to pay for this DLC now when it won't be available till November/May? Don't get me wrong, I plan to buy both packs, but I went to do it last night and then I thought why not wait till November to buy them? Is the sale price only valid if you buy it now?

The only bonus is you get different color Shy Guys and Yoshis which doesn't affect me either way since I use Daisy exclusively. Whether I pay for the DLC now or pay for it later makes no difference since I know I'm going to buy it. If nothing else, this saves me the trouble of going through the steps of purchasing the content when the servers will be busier.

I really like your last point except won't you still be downloading it at the same time as everyone else?

Not Necessarily.  The Wii U has the ability to start downloads on its own so the DLC probably would start to download on its own as well.

Yeah, I'm hoping that when the DLC launches, I'll be able to see it on Twitter or something and then immediately go home and play it without having to jump through the extra hoops.
