GameStop Bundling Some Of The Wave 5B Amiibo?

Rumors of a "Retro Three Pack" have begun to swirl.

Those who want to get R.O.B, Mr. Game and Watch or the Duck Hunt Duo from GameStop should make ready for an early start next Saturday.

According to sources posted to Reddit, GameStop stores will be holding the preorder event for the remaining Wave 5 Amiibo (Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, R.O.B, Mr. Game and Watch, Duck Hunt Duo, Captain Olimar, Bowser Jr, Dr Mario, Mii Gunner/Brawler/Swordfighter) on August 8, with 30 of each available. GameStop will apparently be taking preorders for a "Retro 3-Pack" featuring R.O.B, Mr Game and Watch and the Duck Hunt Duo.

Although it isn't known if any of this group of Amiibo will be exclusive, it appears the 3 pack will be a GameStop only offer in lieu of offering the Amiibo individually. Unlike Wave 4 preorders, which infamously crashed the GameStop web preordering system, the Amiibo this time will require the traditional $5 deposit and in store pickup on release day.

In addition, some stores have confirmed that Pro-level members of GameStop's Power Up Rewards program will be allowed to enter early. Not all stores would be required to participate, so consult your local retailer before proceeding.

I sure would love it if there were no more goddamned exclusives in the next wave. I had to wake up at 4:00 this morning to wait outside Best Buy for six hours to buy just one figure. This whole thing is so out of hand.

I doubt the exclusives will stop. For Nintendo they get the publicity of people lining up like a new console is coming out every couple of months, and the retailers get people in their stores that otherwise wouldn't be there, like this morning I got a couple of things at Best Buy that I would have just ordered on Amazon if I hadn't been trying for a Dark Pit.

My main problem with exclusives is what happened with Wave 4. If three different stores each have an exclusive on the same day, which store am I supposed to line up at? I can't line up at all three, which means I'm being forced to choose which two exclusives I'm essentially going to have to give up hope of buying (without having to turn to importing or filthy scalpers). And that's some serious bullshit, right there. It needs to stop.

I wouldn't mind Amazon having another exclusive because the way it handled Palutena was mostly painless.
