Super Robot Taisen

by Desmond Gaban - June 11, 2001, 10:47 am EDT

Super Robot Taisen, the world's most console agnostic simulation/RPG series, hits the Game Boy Advance.

Banpresto, like Compile, knows how to milk its main franchise. Super Robot Taisen has appeared on every major console and portable platform to date (including the N64), so it's no surprise that a GBA incarnation is in the works. (Considering the GBC version could transfer data between the N64 version, it wouldn't be surprising if a Gamecube Super Robot Taisen was in the works).

Super Robot Taisen is basically a simulation/RPG set in a sci-fi universe where the characters are all from major anime series. Gundam, Macross, you name it, some of them have been in it. In this version of Super Robot Taisen, characters from the popular anime Nadeisco will make their first appearance.

The game plays in a typical Sim/RPG fashion, proceeding via scenarios. You will also be able to play against friends. Presumably there will be several stories to pick from just like in previous games.
