SPHINX AND THE CURSED MUMMY SHIPS THIS FALL

Mummy Threatens To Electrocute Himself Unless Properly

Recognized For His Puzzle Solving Prowess

July 21, 2003 - In an effort to appease its temperamental new stars, Sphinx and the prince formally known as Tutankamen (AKA The Mummy), THQ has decided to change the name of its upcoming Fall PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and Nintendo® GameCube™ games, Sphinx and the Shadow of Set.

"Due to the popularity of the Mummy and his importance to the story of Sphinx, we decided to add his name to the title of the game," said Peter Dille, senior vice president, worldwide marketing, THQ. “The new title, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy focuses the attention on the stars of the upcoming Eurocom developed title, and is an example of THQ understanding its audience and honing its marketing/creative efforts in order to “hit the mark” with consumers.”

The Mummy’s unique ability to fumble through and solve complex puzzles while accidentally setting himself on fire is one of the many facets of his game play that makes his role in Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy more than that of a sidekick - he is a hero. Upon completion of the game, The Mummy will be spending some vacation time at his home residence in Egypt.
