There is a 4th of July in Europe, since this is when it'll be available.

DATEL LAUNCHES DIGITAL MUSIC PLAYER FOR GAME BOY ADVANCE & SP

July 2nd, 2003 - Datel Design & Development, the world's leading developer and manufacturer of video game enhancement products, this week launches the first ever digital music player designed specifically for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and SP handheld game systems.

Advanced Music Player (AMP) is the ultimate portable music player for gamers on the move.

Now there's no need for gamers to take a separate music player out of the house, because AMP turns any Game Boy Advance or SP into a powerful digital music player with sophisticated yet easy-to-use features.

AMP has a fully featured Playlist Editor which gives the user functions such as random play, shuffle, skip forward/back a track, and more. There's also a Keypad Lock option to avoid accidentally skipping tracks while the GBA is in your pocket.

One of the product's neatest features is the ability to transfer songs between two GBA's using a standard GBA link cable.

Favourite songs can be downloaded from a PC to the AMP cartridge using the supplied USB cable and software. Users can transfer songs from their own personal library or download FREE music tracks from the massive online catalogue already at www.mp3junkies.com. Several songs are already included on the AMP disc.

The supplied software also allows users to customise the look of AMP's interface by creating their own "skins".

AMP comes in a slimline cartridge and even includes a pair of earphones, with a FREE headphone adaptor worth £7.99 included for Game Boy SP users.

Advanced Music Player is available to buy from all good game stores from Friday July 4th, and it can also be ordered online at www.codejunkies.com. The recommended retail price is £29.99.

Hey, this seems like a cool gadget for the GBA, just have some q's. Any word on a NA release? couldn't find the product on the US site, just UK. Also, how much space can these cartridges hold? I couldn't find anything on their site that said that. And are they gonna sell extra cartridges so we can have a large collection for on the road? Thanks

Lies! www.mp3junkies.com just says "Coming Soon!" That's not the huge library already there that Datel promises. Anyway, for $50, this will probably only hold around 50 MB MAX or something.
