Intense Shooting Action for the Nintendo DS™ Returns as Majesco Entertainment Announces ‘Nanostray 2’

EDISON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of video games and digital entertainment products for the mass market, today announced Nanostray 2 for the Nintendo DS™. Developed by Shin’en and due out in early 2008, Nanostray 2 is the sequel to the first 3D shooter that launched for the handheld system in 2005.

“The original Nanostray delivered thrilling nonstop action that hearkened back to classic arcade shooters," said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing. “In Nanostray 2, we’re building upon that foundation with features fans requested after the original release: new game modes, control options and wireless connectivity, among them."

A top-down, sci-fi shooter, Nanostray 2 features six game modes, including two-player co-op, two-player vs, Challenge (with 30+ different missions) and the brand new Simulator (go high-score hunting in four futuristic games). With both horizontal and vertical viewpoints that offer more variety between levels, Nanostray 2 also includes multiple control schemes and configurable weapons that are a necessity to defeat the game’s 16 formidable bosses. In addition, players can upload their scores via Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Connection so they can see how they rank against the best.

Ha, and I was playing both Ikaruga and Sin & Punishment today... that line must be one of the silliest to ever adorn a game cover. (Although I was frothing for Ikaruga as well!)

A re-release of the hard to find orginal would be nice...

I loved Nanostray!

I loved the idea of Nanostray... not so much the execution. However, it looks like Shin'en has gone overboard with improvements in the sequel. I can't wait to play it.

I love the genre, but I never got ahold of Nanostray. I heard mixed things, but hopefully this will be really good.

Majesco? Again? Surely they could have found another publisher. Guess Shin'en enjoy their games not selling at all.

Majesco sold like half a million copies of Cooking Mama. They could make this game a big deal if they want to.

Stop picking on Majesco!!! *hmph*
