Band Brothers DX Revealed DS

Coming this June to Japan, Band Bros. DX for Nintendo DS will feature fifty instruments and over one hundred downloadable tracks.

Famitsu Weekly has just revealed that Nintendo has been working on yet another Band Bros. title for Japan. Band Bros. DX is set to be released June 26 for the Nintendo DS.

British Wii owners will be able to access the BBC's iPlayer catch-up service via the Internet Channel.

The BBC has announced that it is teaming up with Nintendo UK to make its iPlayer service available for use with the Wii Internet Channel for UK residents. This will allow British Wii owners to stream the same BBC programming that is currently offered online to PC users for viewing on their television sets instead.

Coming July 1, this direct sequel will put you back in the role of Derek Stiles to deal with the after effects of GUILT.

Derek Stiles is back for a direct sequel to the popular DS operation sim Trauma Center: Under the Knife. Players will once again assume the role of the master surgeon, this time dealing with the after effects of the eradication of the GUILT virus.

Featuring an improved tool utility, a new easy-play mode, and clearer directions, Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 will be available in the US July 1, 2008.

Two NES games this Monday. Yoshi's Cookie and Bases Loaded provide delicious puzzles and dual viewpoint baseball.

This week on Virtual Console we see two games that allow for 1-2 players. Yoshi's Cookie is a puzzle game of the matching multiple items type. Fill a row or column with the same type of cookie by shifting them around the screen and that line will disappear. There are around 100 stages to beat, or you can compete against a friend in two-player mode to see who can match the most cookies.

Lexicon Entertainment announced today that Dubbers Adventure is making its way to both Wii and DS later this year.

In Dubbers Adventure, the player assumes the role of Rubb e Rang, an expert climber, to rid the forest of parasites that infest the trees of the forest of Dubberia, the home world of the Rubber-Dubber tribe. Rubb’s adventure consists of 90 levels and features over fifteen enemies and bosses.

Rockstar Games Acquires Mad Doc Software

Developers responsible for the port of Bully to the Wii and Xbox 360 will be renamed Rockstar New England.

Rockstar Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, announced they have acquired the development house Mad Doc Software. The Massachusetts developer will be renamed Rockstar New England.

The two companies have history. Mad Doc Software managed the port of Rockstar Vancouver's PS2 title, Bully, to the Xbox 360 and Wii. The enhanced port, for both systems, saw release this year under the title "Bully: Scholarship Edition."

Violent Video Games Relax You, Game Addiction Compared to Autism

New studies on video game players dispel the violence connection but find neuroticism and lack of extraversion in game addicts.

One new study suggests video game players are less aggressive and even calmer after playing violent online video games. The British Psychological Society presented Middlesex University's findings on video game research this week at their Dublin-based symposium. This is an interesting finding that contradicts the limited studies already conducted.

A different kind of Pocket Monster rips the charts wide open.

Merely two months ago Super Smash Bros. Brawl sold a mighty respectable 820,000 in its opening week. This week however saw a massive sell-through of the second most popular monster fighting game in Japan (after Pokemon) with Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G.

This shows that the defection of Monster Hunter 3 (currently in production) from PlayStation 3 to Wii, could turn out to be an important strategic move for Nintendo.

An exclusive Wii title just completed by Codemasters, will be shipping to stores April 15 in the US, April 18 in Europe.

In Emergency Mayhem, Crisis City is on the edge of collapse, and you must bring it back to normalcy by ridding the City of fires, bombs ... and monkeys. Sega Officially Announces Sonic Unleashed for Wii Wii

The new Sonic game will feature "seamless 3D to classic 2D camera transitions" and use Sega’s new Hedgehog Engine.

Last week's leak of Sonic information has now been proven true as Sega has officially revealed Sonic Unleashed. The game is set to be released on Wii as well as other competing home consoles. Developed by Sonic Team, Sonic Unleashed will be a change from recent Sonic games as it will involve "seamless 3D to classic 2D camera transitions."
