Namco Bandai is developing a sequel in the Taiko Drum Master series for Nintendo's console.
A new listing from Japanese retailer Gmstar reveals that a new entry in the Taiko no Tatsujin (known as Taiko: Drum Master in North America) series entitled Taiko no Tatsujin Wii Dodon to Ni-Dai-Me will be released on Wii. The title is a follow up to the original Taiko no Tatsujin for Wii released last year in Japan.

Evil's afoot in the magical world of Disney.
An upcoming issue of Game Informer has confirmed Warren Spector's first game at Disney Interactive. The title will be called Epic Mickey, and it will be a Wii-exclusive title.
The artwork found on the cover of the magazine paints the Disney universe as one being dark and sinister, akin to the studio's own Nightmare Before Christmas. Players will take on the role of Mickey Mouse as he attempts to save the Disney universe from evil.

Creators of Real Heroes: Firefighter promote fire safety.
Epicenter Studios recently released Real Heroes: Firefighter for Wii, a game that did its best to give a realistic depiction of firefighting. They've now joined the cause of promoting fire safety for everyone during Fire Safety Week (October 4-10), along with the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN). The FCSN is an organization founded to raise awareness of cancer screening and detection among firefighters.

The legendary artist as you've never seen him before.
USA Today has spilled some tidbits regarding the latest Rock Band release,Lego Rock Band. Contributing artist David Bowie will make an appearance as a Lego character as he performs his hit "Let's Dance". He will be joining Iggy Pop as the second artist to appear in Lego form. The animation of the Lego characters will be based on the original music videos from each singer.

Sega has released a new trailer for the DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. This time the dream events are previewed.
Dream events are arcade versions of regular Olympic events. They allow players to use items borrowed from both the Mario and Sonic universes, including speed rings and turtle shells.

A B-Roll trailer for the upcoming Wii Fit Plus has been released. In this new trailer, Wii Fit Plus' new activities are highlighted, along with footage of the players performing the actions on their Wii Balance Boards. Among some of the activities shown are skateboarding, juggling, obstacle course racing, and even weighting in your pet.

The grudge begins in October.
XSEED Games has announced the North American release date for Ju-On: The Grudge. The title, based on the horror film of the same name, will be hitting shelves on October 13, just in time for the Halloween season.
Ju-On: The Grudge is described as a "haunted house simulator" in which players explore creepy locales such as a decrepit hospital and an abandoned warehouse, with a flashlight being the only weapon at your disposal.

The WiiWare title, set to be released next Monday, has been pushed back.
Medaverse Studios' first WiiWare title, Gravitronix, has been delayed. According to the development house, the game was delayed due to a minor clerical error. A new release date has not been set, but Medaverse expects it will likely occur in a week or two.

Rising Star Games has announced that Vanillaware's Muramasa: The Demon Blade will be released across Europe on November 13.
Muramasa was released last month in North America, receiving praise for its beautiful hand-drawn depictions of Japanese folklore and blending of RPG elements with hardcore platforming action.

Some North American and UK consoles are getting bricked.
Nintendo of America released Wii system update 4.2 on Tuesday, a patch that reportedly had the intention of shutting down Wii hacking solutions. The popular Wii Homebrew Channel is removed by the update, and several known exploits (both hardware and software) are eliminated along with the ability to use USB loaders or downgrade your Wii firmware. The Wii Shop Channel was also updated to reflect the new firmware.

The intergalactic battle game sets forth on October 5.
Big John Games has announced that their DSiWare title, Thorium Wars, will be released on October 5. Thorium Wars is a futuristic vehicle shooter in which players will fight against a race of machines called the Thorions to prevent the destruction of mankind.
Players will have five vehicles to choose from, navigate through exotic locales, and face dangerous enemy mechs.
