Nintendo of Europe's Managing Director will leave Nintendo soon and join mobile entertainment publisher Digital Bridges.

Nintendo have announced today that Nintendo of Europe’s Managing Director David Gosen will step down at the end of August. Having been with Nintendo for the last five years, he was involved with the releases of the GBA, the GBA SP, and the GameCube. After his departure, he will join Digital Bridges, a mobile entertainment publisher, as Chief Operating Officer.

"David has made a huge contribution to Nintendo over the last five years and we would like to thank him for all his hard work and wish him all the success in the future," European President Satoru Shibata said today.

To fill out Gosen’s role Jim Merrick will be promoted to Senior Director of European Marketing while Tim Freystedt becomes European Marketing Manager.

Everyone here at PGC would like to thank David Gosen for his contribution to Nintendo and wish him the best of luck with his new job.

hmmm... maybe that's why he made those comments a while back (Blasting the Xbox and GTA.)? Mouth off, since you won't be around for the backlash?

Satoru Shibabta/Satoru Iwata? Crazy coincidence?

Coincedence that Satoru isn't a very rare first name? face-icon-small-happy.gif

I wish Gosen luck in the future, and thank him for confirming that the GB Next is in development... ^_^
