It makes a lot of sense to put the best 2D shooter in the history of the arcades on the GBA, and Europeans will soon find out why.

IGNITION ENTERTAINMENT SIGNS PUBLISHING AGREEMENT WITH SNK NEO GEO CORPORATION

METAL SLUG 3™ and METAL SLUGTM ADVANCE To Enjoy Dedicated European Releases

Friday 25 June 2004 - One of the most-loved arcade and console gaming franchises is set for an official European release as Ignition Entertainment announces it is to publish SNK PLAYMORE's Metal Slug 3 and Metal Slug Advance throughout Europe.

"Metal Slug games have garnered a massive following amongst arcade lovers and importers alike. The home versions include all the enjoyment and fast paced action of the arcade original – plus some great additional features," says Peter Rollinson, Product Manager, Ignition Entertainment. "And with the simultaneous release of Metal Slug Advance – which we strongly believe will be one of the greatest games to grace the Nintendo handheld – this is great news for games players. We're all massive fans of the Metal Slug games at Ignition and are excited to have secured these titles. The Metal Slug series has remained the hardcore gamers' best-kept secret. We are looking forward to sharing it with the masses."

Players can choose from over 10 new 'Slug' vehicles exclusive to Metal Slug 3, including the Slug Copter and the bizarre Elephant Slug. Metal Slug 3 features stunning hand-drawn animation, highly detailed backgrounds and outstanding 2D action.

Ignition Entertainment will publish SNK PLAYMORE's Metal Slug Advance and Metal Slug 3 for PS2 and Xbox (with Live support) in October 2004.

2D RAWK ON FOREVER. It'll turn to GRR news, Zoidy. Like, 700000% of GBA games that get released in Europe don't end up making it here. Or Atari will distribute it, like they did with the PAL version of Metal Slug X on PSone. OH WHERE IS THAT GAME?

Import import import imytopdeuiy imi49 mbjm WAAAAAAVE. =O
Oh, everybody should go to vgmix.com and get virt's Metal Slug remix. IT'S HAWT.

Hey...it's possible to import international games for the GBA with no mod'ing, is it not? I've actually never played Metal Slug, but I happened to see one of the games for the first time ever in an arcade while I was on vacation, and it looked awesome.

Metal Slug is hot dude. You can't front on it.
