Anime fans in Japan, this is for you!

In Square Enix’s Japanese magazine, Monthly Gangan, Bandai has announced a new Fullmetal Alchamist for the GBA. Titled Fullmetal Alchemist: Omoide no Sonata, which translates to Fullmetal Alcemist: Sonata of Memories, the handheld game will focus on card RPG battles.

Although it is inspired by the anime, the game will feature a completely new plot introducing female mechanic Winry Rockbell as a playable character. Omoide no Sanata has a Japanese release date of July 22nd and can be purchased for 5,040 yen.

Yeah, well...Too bad the FMA games won't make it to the U.S. for a while, if at all... :\

KDR_11kJune 14, 2004

"Sonata of Memories", eh? Soundslike they're ripping off Castlevania...

odifiendJune 15, 2004

Bill, they'll come. FUNimation just licensed the series, those $*%#&$s. It should be on Cartoon Network in October. Get ready to see FUNimation's strength for milking a series.

It could be worse. 4kids could be doing it.

At least Square is in charge of the games.

This batch of games. face-icon-small-wink.gif But you do make a good point. face-icon-small-smile.gif

I think Square made up the FMA series in first place, I doubt they'd let anyone else make games out of it...

odifiendJune 15, 2004

Yep, you're right KDR. When watching I did notice that Square and Sony where mentioned as sponsors, but it turns out Square does have a part in making the series. No wonder the console game is evading the cube.
