DID YOU KNOW? FORECAST FOR FORTHCOMING THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: FOUR SWORDS ADVENTURES CALLS FOR FORTITUDE, FORTUNE

June 7, 2004 -- It's important not to forget that The Legend of Zelda® remains one of Nintendo's finest franchises, with 12 titles selling more than 42 million units. Although the future is difficult to foresee, it's almost a foregone conclusion that with its quality game play and dazzling visual effects, The Legend of Zelda®: Four Swords Adventures will rank foremost among summer video game titles.

Link forever demonstrates courage, his forte, while venturing forth into dungeons and danger. In The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, the first multiplayer Zelda™ for Nintendo GameCube™, he'll have a little company. The power of the Four Sword splits Link, the ultimate model of fortitude and forbearance, into four different-colored versions of himself.

The four Links foray into a foreign and forbidden land to battle formidable enemies and forage for Force Gems. Initially they must forswear their individual aims and battle in formation to fortify their defenses against a multitude of adversaries by forging an alliance to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. But be forewarned: Once opponents have been vanquished, players may forgo their formal alliances and forsake the team as they scramble to collect the most fortune.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, Rated E for Everyone, launches June 7 at an MSRP of $49.99.

All right! I'm going to be at my local electronics store the minute it opens on Wednesday... ^_^

Ian SaneJune 07, 2004

It actually ships today? Wow. Usually Tuesday is ship day and depending where you live you often don't see the new game until Wednesday or Thursday. Maybe I can actually get this by Tuesday for once.

Mine still hasn't shipped from ebgames.com... Argh..i was really hoping for an early release like the classic nes games.

WindrunnerJune 07, 2004

Nintendo titles almost -always- ship to arrive on Tuesday... they're the "weird" ones of the video game world, though really, they're kinda normal as far as products overall. Music and movies almost always release on tuesdays... video games are just weirdos on wednesdays.

Blah blah blah... face-icon-small-tongue.gif

I like the box mine came in, quite different than just the regular standard game case, but a nice pretty box, with a standard game case inside and a link cable, now I have three cables and only two GBA's and no one to play multi with. face-icon-small-tongue.gif

We put ours out on the shelf at Circuit City today.

Ian SaneJune 09, 2004

Dang. Couldn't find it yesterday. But according to Futureshop's web site my local store has both Zelda and the new memory card as of 9:00 am this morning and they're both on sale too! You know where I'm headed after work. Unfortunately my brother has guitar lessons tonight and won't be home to play with me. CURSES!

Ian SaneJune 09, 2004

Just got it and it's all kinds of awesome. Nintendo finally made a game that makes good use of the GBA connection. Now realistically the game probably could have been done without it but it would sacrifice a great deal of the charm and the competitive nature. I particularly love the 2D graphics and all of the cool effects. Nintendo really needs to make more 2D console games. I hope the decision to keep it 2D was intentional and not just to make it blend better with the GBA. Today's consoles are great for 2D because they can do all sorts of neat effects and can have tons of enemies on screen at once without a framerate hiccup. Screw this 2.5D sh!t. Sprites forever!

However I have one big complaint about the packaging. I don't know if it's only in Canada or what but there's a big "stamp" on the package that says "New for 2004". This of course looks like total crap. It's also on the Canadian WarioWare packaging. I'm hoping this isn't the new standard and they only put that on those two games to prevent confusion with the similarly titled GBA games. What really bugs me though is that this is on the game case but NOT on the box. So people browsing in the store, who are the only people this is even remotely useful for, CAN'T SEE IT. If I buy the game why the f*ck do I need to know it's new for 2004. It's not like it's going to affect my purchase decision now.

Oh and I like the box it came in. Reminds me of the boxes for the Lunar remakes on the PSX. They should do this more often and include mini-artbooks, maps, soundtracks, etc with their major releases.

Jesus, I am seriously considering getting this game, despite the lack of a GBA. . . my friend has one, and a link cable, but that still won't allow any multiplayer. Still. . . looks great.

Bill AurionJune 09, 2004

The best multiplayer game I have ever played...seriously...And the one player mode is fantastic by itself...

It's amazing how perfect the levels are...A dream come true... face-icon-small-thumbsup.gif

Heh, reminds me of the giant IGN quote Atari slapped on Ikaruga's otherwise beautiful box.

KDR_11kJune 10, 2004

I only have disfigured boxes of FFCC and Metroid Prime and with FFCC it's only the outer box, not the DVD case...

Koopa TroopaJune 10, 2004

I am so close to buying an NES GBASP... Then I could play this bad boy two player... And if the DS, when it is released, has the GBA-GC link port I could play three player!

I need you guys to push me over the edge with the NES SP thing, though, I'm really cheap and it is hard for me to spend $100.

Erm... It give you long life of pleasure!

Koopa TroopaJune 10, 2004

That's it... I'm sold.
