No Jirachi Bonus Disc For Australians...

...but they're still able to get the Starry Pokémon another way.

While there will be no Pokémon Colosseum bonus disc for Australian Pokémon players, they're still able to get the Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire clock patch and a free Jirachi. The Jirachi Download is available as an extra option in the recently released (in Australia, at least) Pokémon Channel, the latest Pikachu Simulation game.

The e-Reader cards have also been slightly adjusted to reflect this addition, as one of the three e-Reader cards available in the Australian version of Pokémon Channel is none other than a line drawing of Jirachi.

For those interested in checking out how the Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire Time Fix works, check out our feature on it here:

Expect more details on the Jirachi bonus and the Jirachi e-Card in Pokémon Channel soon.

Now the challenge is to find a copy of Pokemon Channel, i can't find it anywhere. And does this mean i'll need an e-reader to get Jirachi, since he's on one of the e-cards, or can i get him from Pokemon Channel in the game somewhere as well without needed an e-reader?

Aussie Ben PGCBen Kosmina, Staff AlumnusApril 15, 2004

No, you will not need an e-Reader to get Jirachi. The Jirachi card is a seperate thing for Pokémon Channel. It's a line drawing that you can colour in with Smeargle Paint, and has taken the place of one of the other US Line drawing cards. I'll be getting more details on it soon.

Oh, phew, that's good. Thanks. I'm glad i don't have to buy an e-reader for one Pokemon... which is probably what i would have done if i had to...

So the world hasn't gone completely insane, eh? Good to hear NOAus are still their old selves.

Now I'm stuck wondering how to get just the Jirachi card for my e-Reader collection here stateside... (hint, hint... face-icon-small-wink.gif

Man you Aussies are getting royally screwed. Pokemon Channel is not a game it's product. NOAus are total assh0les for making you buy it. No wonder Nintendo never amounts to anything in Australia.

indeed, NAL is like a freakin' ROCK, unmoveable and well... mostly useless, ROCK ON (blol i'm clevah hay d00ds)

nitsu niflheimApril 15, 2004

nothing beats being forced to buy a non-game to get something everyone else gets for free for another game.

Pokemon channel is a fun romp if your a pokefreak. Thats the way i see it. Hopefully it will be at a nice budget level for you guys down there. I bought it in the states without getting a free jirachi. =P

KDR_11kApril 15, 2004

I'm seeing PC with those "Free Jirachi Gift" stickers everywhere, is that limited to the PAL regions?

Uncle Rich AiAiApril 15, 2004

As I type this, I'm a block away from NAL (seriously, no kidding). Reply ASAP if you want me throw a brick at their HQ!

Aussie Ben PGCBen Kosmina, Staff AlumnusApril 16, 2004

...what the hell for? Bloody hell, it's the first time that I've known of that NAL has actually gotten off their arse and done something proactive for a change. Instead of making us pre-order (which NEVER works in Australia anyway), they've gone and given Jirachi free to EVERYONE who buys the game. Seems to be much sweeter than forcing you to pre-order a game in the vain hope that you'll get a pre-order disc. This way, you don't miss out at all. And to top it all off, we get an exclusive e-Reader card that the US didn't get. All the bonus disc has on it besides Jirachi is an ad for the Jirachi DVD and Pokemon Colosseum. All in all, this is a MUCH better deal, especially seeing that Pokemon Channel is at the player's choice price of $50 anyway, and is also included in the Zelda Bonus Disc deal, thus giving you another reason to pick it up.

Uhmm i have like 10 copies of the american pre order disc... woudl that work for you aussies??? Wait, you guys are PAL aren't you...

KDR_11kApril 16, 2004

Freeloader. Can't live without it if you're PAL.

Get it?

Sorry, I shouldn't really have addressed it directly to you. It was meant to be a general rant. Honest. Look, over there!

(runs off)

Also, scans of various Jirachi paraphenalia are now available in the artwork section:

Ok, cool, there's still one thing i'm not sure about though. If you get Jirachi, and then in a few weeks you erase all the data on your game pak (either with Jirachi on it, or having traded Jirachi to a safe place), can you get another Jirachi on that same game pak after you start a new file?

KDR_11kApril 16, 2004

I doubt it. Might need to remove the battery for a few seconds, that is guranteed to work.

Aussie Ben PGCBen Kosmina, Staff AlumnusApril 16, 2004

Well, you probably could do that, but seeing that the instructions say that you can't download Jirachi until you've beaten the Elite Four, it's probably going to take you a while.

KDR_11kApril 17, 2004

Yeah, they won't let you make the game even easier than it already is.

i challenge you sir to a Pokemon battle.
