The largest in Activision's history, in fact, which is saying something for a 24-year old company.

The granddaddy publisher will let everyone know about Tony Hawk's Underground, which is set for release next week. While no exact dollar amount was given for the amount of advertising Activision plans to buy up, it's going to be a lot, considering where you'll see the game plugged.

Starting with television spots, you'll see the game during MTV's various sports-themed shows, during NBC's coverage of the Gravity Games, and on CBS's coverage of NFL Football.

Companies such as Tombstone Pizza, Nestle, and AT&T Wireless will also have a hand in mainstream advertising. Of course, this being a skateboarding game, advertising from the likes of DC Shoes, Billabong, Quiksilver, Vans Shoes, Hawk Clothing, Transworld, SKATEboarding, Volcom, Von Zipper, Adio, and Nixon will try to sell the game to those already interested in skateboarding.

In addition, advertisments for the game will be seen amongst movie previews in over 5,000 theaters, including movies such as Scary Movie 3 and The Matrix Revolutions.

With the big push that Activision is giving Tony Hawk 5, it's obvious that people are going to know about it. The game's official release date is October 27.
