Haven't you always wanted to be in a video game?

Konami has officially opened the website for the upcoming MGS remake, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. The site has tons of information on the creators of the game. You can also download the trailer for the game that was shown at E3.

There is also an area on the site where you can submit your name to be included in this upcoming title. Clicking on the "Dogtag" link will bring you to a page where you can enter your name, birthday, blood type, and nationality to be included on a soldier's dog tag in the game. A similar campaign was held for Metal Gear Solid 2. The deadline for entry is July 12th, and those who got their names into MGS2 are not eligible to get them in again. E-mails will be sent out the lucky individuals who have their names selected.

I did this a coupla weeks ago from a link at another website.

Grey NinjaJune 03, 2003

Yeah, same here. I was actually half-considering donating blood so that I could find out what my blood type was, but then I thought of the big needle that they would gouge me with, and I decided to keep my blood where it belonged.

WHERE IS THE LINK!!! MUST FIND!!!!

I CAN'T FIND IT!!!!1

nitsu niflheimJune 03, 2003

You obviously didn't look to well Mr. Magoo.

Clink "the website" and it will take you there. The link into the dog tag part is at the bottom left screen, maybe you can't see it because the page doesn't scroll down but use your tab key and you should be able to move from link to link.

The only problem with this campaign is that if I'm selected everyone will find out my real name. Well I guess they won't if I don't brag about it but what would be the point of that? face-icon-small-wink.gif

Grey NinjaJune 03, 2003

Well, my name is Dave Brady. Think about me when you are doing obscene things to the guard who has my name. face-icon-small-wink.gif

SuperLink666June 03, 2003

Alliedrally68June 03, 2003

I hope they make me a kick-ass soldier. I did this about a month ago, I dunno if that'll increase my odds though. But it'd be sweet!

SuperLink666June 03, 2003

Again.. where do I submit? Not like we have a chance.. people will probably flood the inbox or something

Go to the site and click on the "Dogtags" link. The instructions are right there in the news article. Perhaps you should read it?

SuperLink666June 03, 2003

Don't even see Dogtags face-icon-small-mad.gif

Am I going to the right site by clicking on the link in the article?

SuperLink666June 03, 2003

I hate it when sites hide parts of their pages if your not using a "high enough" resolution.

WesisapieJune 04, 2003

I've already had my name (Wesisapie) in a game.

"I've already had my name (Wesisapie) in a game. The credits of Serious Sam (in the special thanks to forum veterans)"

Yeah well I've been credited as the head programmer, graphic designer, and composer for a game and as the lead actor, director, producer, editor, and writer for a series of movies... which I all made in high school. face-icon-small-wink.gif

Well it's still better than nothing. One of those films got shown at grad as well.

MarioJune 14, 2003

I registered my name! face-icon-small-happy.gif yay!

My dad has already been in the credits of a game, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, he did the cutscenes face-icon-small-happy.gif

Now its my turn! Hopefully. Possibly. Maybe.
