Well, for domestic software sales, anyway, beating out Konami.

Even though Nintendo is far behind Sony in the console hardware market in the homeland, Nintendo still manages to sell a bunch of GC and GBA software. Japanese magazine publisher Enterbrain (publisher of Famitsu Weekly) has tallied up the sales from the past year ending March 31, and has deterimined that Nintendo is number one.

Konami Corp, which shoved Nintendo aside in the April-September period thanks to "World Soccer Winning Eleven 6", came in at number two, as Nintendo's "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire" were the nation's best-selling games on the year.

Nice to see Nintendo still selling a good amount of software despite poor GCN sales.

On another note, I was not surprised to see that Microsoft has mostly given up in the Japanese marketing of the Xbox. I'm still surprised seeing Xbox number two in total global console sales for this generation thus far.
