Gamers in Europe will finally be able to get a Platinum GameCube, as part of a bundle with The Wind Waker.

A couple of days ago, Cube-Europe reported that European fans will finally be able to purchase the Platinum GameCube. It seems that the popular color will initially only be offered as part of a bundle with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and the Zelda bonus disc (which is being packaged directly with The Wind Waker in Europe).

No word on a price yet, but the bundle is expected to be released on the same day as Zelda in that territory, May 3rd.

Note: this information originally comes from Gaming-Universe, but we're also giving credit to Cube-Europe since they translated it into English.

Europeans may have to wait a while longer to play Zelda, but they're gettting a little bonus...

NINTENDO GAMECUBE GOES PLATINUM ON 1st ANNIVERSARY

New Limited Edition Pak to feature platinum NINTENDO GAMECUBE and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Nintendo is celebrating the anniversary of the European launch of the NINTENDO GAMECUBE with the release of a very special Limited Edition Pak on May 3rd 2003.

The celebratory pak will feature an exclusive platinum NINTENDO GAMECUBE and controller coupled with one of the most anticipated video games in history, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, also launched on this date. The Limited Edition Pak also contains a bonus disc featuring the original NINTENDO 64 title, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: The Master Quest, updated exclusively for NINTENDO GAMECUBE. In the US, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker received a staggering 600,000 pre-orders and since the debut of the series in 1987, more than 36 million Zelda games have been sold worldwide for Nintendo's NES, SNES, N64, and Game Boy consoles.

The NINTENDO GAMECUBE launched in Europe on May 3rd 2002 with one of the strongest software lineups for a console system ever. Since its release, the NINTENDO GAMECUBE is now home to even more classic titles such as Super Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness, Star Fox Adventures, Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 0.

The platinum NINTENDO GAMECUBE is the perfect choice for the stylish gamer who wants their console to look as good as the games they play on it. With its sleek silver finish and all round good looks, the platinum NINTENDO GAMECUBE will appeal to gamers of every generation and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is the perfect game to accompany it.

Like its predecessors before it, this new Zelda adventure pushes the boundaries of visual, audio and gameplay excellence. The game utilises advanced "toon-shading" graphical techniques, which has allowed the development team to create a world with amazing attention to detail and facial expressions unlike anything previously seen in a video game. This latest chapter in the Zelda saga is set to rock the foundations of the gaming world. On this particular journey we accompany Link in a quest to locate his sister Aryll, who has been snatched by a giant bird. Along the way he must unlock the secrets of an ancient mystery and learn to control the powers of the wind to access areas with his talking sailboat.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is another classic title from the man who created a number of Nintendo classics, Shigeru Miyamoto. Responsible for such hits as Mario and Donkey Kong, Mr Miyamoto has worked hard to ensure that this latest title is one of the most memorable Nintendo games ever.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Limited Edition Pak includes an exclusive platinum NINTENDO GAMECUBE and platinum controller, the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker game plus a bonus disc featuring The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: The Master Quest, updated exclusively for NINTENDO GAMECUBE. The Limited Edition Pak will be available on May 3rd for around 199 Euros.
