Japanese gamers will have to wait a little longer before getting their hands on the finished product.
Sega and Sonic Team announced today that Phantasy Star Online Episodes I & II will be coming to Japanese stores over a month later than previously expected. The GameCube’s first online game is now scheduled for a September 12th release. Because of this delay, the Network Trial Edition’s duration has been extended until Monday, August 19th. Sonic Team will use the extra time to further polish the title and make sure it lives up to gamers’ expectations. Sega still plans to sell PSO I&II with the option of an included GameCube modem in Japan but has yet to state specifics regarding the game’s releases overseas.
