Biohazard (Resident Evil) has launched in Japan! Details inside!

Discuss it in Talkback!

The long awaited Capcom game Biohazard (a.k.a. Resident Evil) was released in Japan today. As previously announced, it comes on two discs, which play consecutively. Rather than RE2 for the Playstation, which has two different character discs, when players begin the GameCube version they are given a choice of either Chris or Jill, and must swap discs when the first disc is completed.

Biohazard also comes with a Memory Card 59 packed in, but with no special data or other unique features other than custom stickers to adorn the card.

Unfortunately, Biohazard lacks support for 480p progressive scan mode or Dolby Surround. Rather, it runs only in interlaced mode and features stereo sound.

As a bonus, Biohazard comes with a custom aluminum Biohazard business card carrying case, bearing the GameCube Biohazard logo.

Stay tuned to Planet GameCube for impressions and media soon!
