3DO Europe Launches World’s First Online Graffiti Competition in Conjunction with Jonny Moseley Mad TrixTM and HEAD®

Keeping tenement walls, motorway arches and assorted rolling stock spray paint free, 3DO Europe today announced the launch of the world’s first online graffiti competition, in conjunction with HEAD®, at www.3doeurope.com/madtrix to promote the release of Jonny Moseley Mad TrixTM for PlayStation®2 and Game Boy® Advance.

Budding graffiti artists will be able to spray, paint and tag their designs through an innovative Jonny Moseley Mad TrixTM graffiti interface based in a ski lodge. From experienced graffiti artists to absolute beginners, the interface has been designed to offer a level playing field for all entrants via the use of a set range spray cans, marker pens and colours. The entrant displaying the highest degree of skill, imagination and artistic flair will win the top prize of having their design professionally printed onto their own pair of HEAD® Mad Trix skis. The winner will also receive a PS2 console, copy of the Jonny Moseley Mad TrixTM game and assorted HEAD® merchandise. The prize bundle comes to an impressive combined value of over £1000. Five runners up will also win a pair of HEAD® Mad Trix Skis, HEAD® merchandise and Jonny Moseley Mad TrixTM game bundles.

One of the most dynamic American contenders for Olympic gold in the 2002 Winter Games, Jonny Moseley won the gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, for the freestyle mogul event. He came home a national hero and is as popular in mainstream skiing as he is with hardcore freeskiers. In 2000 he won the Freeze US Freeskier Slopestyle event, as well as a silver medal in the ‘Big Air’ event at the 1999 Winter X-Games. He has revolutionised skiing by bringing a non-traditional, ‘extreme’ style to the Olympics and became world famous for his trademark jump, the ‘360 mute grab’.

Maximising PlayStation® technology, Jonny Moseley Mad TrixTM uses an all-new second-generation game engine which creates unique and stunningly photo-realistic environments. In the Slopestyle mode, players race through fantastical environments such as snowed-in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Rome and many other cities, pulling off sick tricks and competing for medals, sponsors and fame. The Slopestyle courses are man-made, with half-pipes, quarter-pipes, kickers, picnic tables, big air ramps and rails, all used to rack up huge trick points.

Jonny Moseley Mad TrixTM was published by 3DO Europe for PlayStation®2 on 8th March and will be published for Game Boy® Advance on 15th March 2002, both priced £29.99.

The Jonny Moseley Mad TrixTM Online Graffiti Competition designs will be judged by the HEAD® design team and the winner will be announced on 14th June 2002.
