Hey New Zealand! Wanna Play GameCube?

Well, even if you’re in NZ you’ll have to live close to a certain shop in Auckland… But if you do, there's a NGC demo going on this weekend! Here's the details!

“Planet GameCube” has taken on a new meaning for us, as we are in constant contact with Nintendophiles around the globe. This includes parts of the world that won’t see the GameCube released until 2002. Thanks to reader Euan McKee, we’ve learned that a shop in Auckland, New Zealand will be previewing GameCube this Saturday.

Tomorrow (September 29 NZ) a store called Gameplanet is going to have playable Gamecubes up and running for one day only. To Euan’s (and our) knowledge, this will be the first time the Cube will be demonstrated in New Zealand.

The blurb for the event:

“It’s GameCube Saturday this coming weekend at the Gameplanet Store. Nintendo's next-gen console will be setup in-store with Luigi Mansion and Wave Race available for hands-on testing.”

The store is open from 10 am to 6 pm and they'll have the cubes up all day. As to how many they'll have set up I'm not sure. The address is as follows:

184 Dominion Road

Mt. Eden

Auckland
