Activision is bringing Minority Report to every next-generation console and GBA!

Yesterday, Activision announced that they have earned the rights to the upcoming movie "Minority Report," a science fiction film featuring Tom Cruise. Activision has the rights to next summer's Speilburg film for five years on every console and the PC, and will no doubt take advantage of it. Below is a quote from Activision's press release.

"'Minority Report' lends itself well to a wide variety of gameplay elements with intense futuristic storylines and gripping action-packed sequences," states Ron Doornink, President and COO, Activision, Inc.

"As a multi-platform publisher, we intend to leverage this property across all of the major gaming systems including the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance and the PC. We are very excited to work with Steven Speilberg, Fox Interactive and DreamWorks Pictures on what is expected to be one of the most anticipated films of 2002."

"Minority Report" is a futuristic thriller based on a short story by noted sci-fi author Philip K. Dick. Dick is also well known for writing the original stories that inspired the popular motion pictures "Blade Runner" and "Total Recall."
