Hell yeah, there really needs to be more of these. Twin Galaxies is hosting a Video Game Festival in Bloomington, MN at the Mall of America this weekend to celebrate their 20th anniversary (wow!). There will be a ton of tournaments going on, as well as some serious prizes. As far as console games, here's the dealio....

In addition to tables and tables of home consoles set on free play, featuring a wide variety of game titles such as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Crazy Taxi and Gran Turismo, the public is invited to compete in The Official Console Video Game World Championship, which will crown World Champions on the following games: Twisted Metal: Black and SSX for the PlayStation 2, Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart 64 and WWF No Mercy for the Nintendo 64, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the Dreamcast.

I will be there representin' PGC for Mario Kart, as well as takin' pics. and cruisin' the mall for chicks. And throwing up on the roller coaster in Camp Snoopy. Word. Come kick my ass in Mario Kart!
