In another GIA E3 interview, Sega's Yu Suzuki admits to researching both the GameCube and X-Box.

A couple days after I mention Ed McGlothlin and his Howard Lincoln interview, I'm browsing the GIA and find another interview he did at E3, with Sega's Yu Suzuki.

It's a quick but good interview. Here's a particularly interesting exchange:

GIA: Why did you choose the PlayStation 2 for your first home conversion outside Sega?

YS: The main reason was it's available now. (laughter)

GIA: Have you examined the hardware for the GameCube and Xbox?

YS: Yes, I am gathering information on them. Each one does have specific characteristics that are very different, and can be used in many ways.

Although the comments are pretty general, it does lend some evidence to the notion that Virtual Fighter 4 may end up on GameCube. Then again, we may see future chapters of Suzuki's epic Shenmue series, or Daytona hit the Cube as well. Naturally, it's too early to say anything and who knows what projects Yu Suzuki may/may not be cooking up for GameCube and X-Box, though it sounds like he may have plans for both. We’ll see.
