X-Box Revealed

by Justin Nation - May 16, 2001, 9:47 am EDT

For anyone who missed the live Internet broadcast concerning Microsoft's new console here's the skinny...

While the Nintendo press conference is now less than an hour away the X-Box fans of the world have already gotten their early Christmas present.

What was revealed? Most importantly that the X-Box will launch on Novermber 8 (that's this year for anyone who wanted a delay) and for a price point of $300.

Now, while people may scoff at the high price remember these two things: It will have a hard drive built in, and it will have an ethernet adapter built in and ready to go. Not bad, all things considered.

Microsoft is also apparently planning on making an immediate push with its Internet attack at launch, with at least 4 games planned to launch with Internet capabilities. This kind of commitment may also be wise not to ignore.

So now the other players have all called and layed down their hands. Now we get to know if Nintendo has been holding a royal flush all along or if it has just been bluffing on two Jacks. We'll see shortly.
