"Peter Main: CONFIDENTIAL!" A private letter to retailers from the big "P.M." has surfaced, revealing Nintendo's Vice President of Sales thoughts about the growing Microsoft hype.

In its no-holds-barred coverage of the industry, Fatbabies has run several reports about Sony bullying retailers (here's one & here's another)- including one that came from Ty & a Planet reader who works in retail.

Now Fatbabies reports that Nintendo is up to similar tricks, discouraging retailers who are promoting the Microsoft X-Box. However, instead of tearing down competitors' displays and sabotaging playable kiosks (things Sony Reps have reportedly done) the "bullying" comes in the form of a "Confidental" letter, from Nintendo Vice President of Sales, Peter Main (AKA PETERMAINCO here at PGC - and worshipped as a Jedi by IGNCube).

From Fatbabies:

"Granted, at least the Big N reps haven't resorted to physical violence, in some cases, like their Sony counterparts. Instead, they chose to use smoke and mirrors to try and persuade retailers to promote their own systems. Nice try."

The letter essentially scolds retailers and questions the motives in hyping the Microsoft X-Box to consumers, something that Peter Main suggests delays consumers from purchasing items already on the market.

Read Mr. Main's letter below, which speaks for itself quite nicely.
