Check out NOA's best April Fools joke ever...

Although the press release just came out today, April 2, this newest N64 announcement from NOA has "prank" written all over it. The company says it will release a 256MB cartridge for holding MP3 music, and it will have a retail price of $59.95. (Note that a cartridge that size would probably cost upwards of $200 for the ROM chip alone!) Famous Nintendo characters will dance onscreen to the music, and via a new technology called Asymmetric Partial-Register Instruction Language with Fully-Oriented Omni-Logic, the system will detect the music's genre and dress the characters accordingly.

If the MP3 cartridge detects reggae music, Mario will grow dreadlocks, mon. For country music, Luigi will mosey on up with a cowboy hat and chaps. Jazz music leads Princess Peach to scat around in sunglasses and a beret and rap and hip-hop turn Wario's hat sideways and bling Mario's archrival out with pounds of gold-chains, boyee.
Funny, funny stuff. In another twist, the game will be designed for up to four players at once, and to avoid backlash from the music recording industry, the MP3 cartridge will be released under the pseudo-title "Mario Party 3". Stay tuned to PGC for more details soon...NOT!
