Even MORE GBA Game Info!

We've got more details on the newest GBA game announcements. Classics, connections & confirmations - we've got it here.

Believe it or not, I've just received some "inside info" from a l33t source about the exciting news of Nintendo planning re-releases of many of its classic series (a "going away present" to PlanetN2000). Here's a couple important / exciting specifics:

1) Last time we heard from "Metroid Advance" it was being officially denied by Nintendo; we thought something was up though! Now that the story has changed, Metroid is currently listed as "Metroid for Game Boy Advance" --so it's up in the air as to whether it's a new game or just the original (i.e. like Mario Advance, which is just Super Mario Bros 2.2--the original plus some fixed stuff, better graphics and a couple of new things). While a remix would be great, one Metroid GBA rumor we've previously reported suggested that it would be a brand new game. Old or new, we finally we know that the Nintendo of Europe press release awhile back wasn't lying when they accidentally spilled the beans on this... Best of all, it will be sweet Samus goodness in a Metroid title that should make every one happy. Grand!

2) Nintendo announced Super Mario Advance 2 and Super Mario Advance 3, which are supposed to be Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. With the "Advance" moniker tacked on, we can expect them to be enhanced handheld versions of these Mario gems. Pinch me, I'm dreaming! Anyone who was disappointed that Mario Advance wasn't one of these other Mario game can rejoice in this great news.

Both Yoshi games (Island & Story) were mentioned but not put on any release calendars. We've seen Yoshi running around on Game Boy Advance for awhile, so expected but good news. The fact Yoshi's Story could run on GBA was impressive, though many gamers will agree that Yoshi's Island is a better score for GBA.

Zosha didn't mention the official announcment of "Pokemon Advance" game (because she told you could read it yourself here); this is another thing we've been expecting for a long time. It has practically been all-but-officially confirmed that a Pokemon AGB game will interface with a NGC version - Pokemon Advance seems as good a candidate as any. The two titles will reported also exchange data via SD Memory card. According to Mr. Ishihara stated, "This game will be very important and will be the origin of a new Pokémon World" and will feature new Pokemon that will also appear in the Japanese Poke-feature film "Celebi: Encounter Over Time."
