There's been speculation about Namco and Gamecube, but now it's official.

Namco released financial statements today that cited a significant loss (mostly attributed to the disappointing performance of the PS2). Of greater interest to Gamecube fans is that Namco stated that they will be supporting Gamecube. It's been speculated about before, but the financial statement makes it 100% official. IGN Cube's sources say that two games are confirmed to be in development, Ridge Racer V and Tekken Tag Tournament, however no concrete details are available. Further proof of Namco's Gamecube support can be found in an ad in the March 2001 issue of Game Developer Magazine in which Namco is looking for software engineers for console systems...PS2 and Gamecube experience a definite plus. With Sega and Namco aboard, Nintendo's 3rd party line-up is looking that much better.
